I have graduated from Bertie High School this year some months ago and I will say that it isn t the worst school of all, but it is certainly not anywhere close to the best. This school can be very hazardous and emotionally draining. There are some select students that will try hard and most of them are not bad kids; just people in bad situations and the school seems to make things worst. It would be such a better place if we : 1)got teachers that were qualified and caring because you can t have a good school without good, qualified teachers that want to help, 2)make some very well needed changes to the physical condition of the school; it was build 40 years ago and they still seem to use the same old stuff, and 3) most importantly -- enforce all the rules the staff seems to make up off the top of their heads. There s no need for rules if authority figures don t enforce them

This school can do so much better than what it is doing. A lot of things are 'backwards' and out of control. Teacher appreciation is a good place to start. The focus in this school is not the students and it should be.

As a student I know first hand what happens here and to me the school is good to but we should have more selections as far as elective classes because the ones we have don't have a lot of variety. Change that and the school would be perfect.

Bertie high school is not a good learning enviroment. The way i feel is that they need to build a new school, the students do not feel safe or that they can acheive. Also their getting uniforms. Students are going to be concentrating on how rediculous the uniforms look than on their work. Uniforms should be thrown out!!If students don't want to learn and be successful in life so be it. We need better qualified teachers and academic activities.

I graduated in 2000, and my opinion of the school is that I had ups and downs cause I had very good teachers who taught me everything and now I'm in the military and getting my collee at the same time. I want to applaud them.

I graduated from Bertie High School in May of 2005. Personally I don't think that Bertie High School prepared me for the real world. I had calculus my senior year, and because of the lack of teachers, the highest chapter we got up to was Chapter 3. I love the teachers there though. Some really took time with you. I would like to acknowledge some good teachers I had: Gail Wilson, Tony Hogard, Calvin Moore, E. Outlaw, R. Windham, S. Barnes, F. Pugh, L. Jenkins, E. White, and etc. Bertie High School just need to build itself up, and get educated teachers.

Bertie High School is a great school. It truly disturbs me to see such negative comments from graduates. The school is large yet small enough for teachers to really get to know their students. All Schools has budget constraints but has not stop teachers from teaching. I was more than prepared for college when leaving Bertie High. Those that may not been prepared may not have taken college prep courses. Most students only do enough to graduate (period!) I would highly recommend Bertie High School.

I graduated from this school in 2001, and I will be the first to tell you that these kids in this school system are being ripped off. The courses as well as the teachers, some, not all, are inexperienced and not fulfilling the purpose for which they were designed. I found myself needing to take some refresher courses after entering college because I was so far behind. Bertie High School taught me absolutely nothing. Extracurricular activities are the only wothrwhile thing this scholl has to offer. Did I mention they still havent sent me my diploma?

Personally I feel like Bertie High School is one of the poorest schools in North Carolina but I feel that the county is doing whatever it can to provide for the school. I am one of the graduates who graduated this year and I feel I was taught everything I needed to know and I thank the teachers who helped me to get through those difficult subjects. no matter what people say about this school we still strive to be the best in whatever we do.

This school needs much improvement! how can you educate a child when there are not enough books if any books for classes? The school system claims that there are enough books and so forth but i know that there are not because i had a class they created and they did not give any books for the class at all. We sat there and talked the whole class period because the school system would not supply the class with books! Because of this school I lacked what I needed for college. I had to work double time to make up for it!
