We transferred our daughter to Hillsboro from Grand Forks and have had the very best experience! The staff are always friendly and helpful, Her teacher is the best she has had and her fellow students quickly accepted her and made her feel right at home. We are extremly happy about this move for her and only wish we has done it sooner.

We transferred to Hillsboro Schools from Grand Forks. We found the administration to be extremely unhelpfull and unresponsive. There are serious bullying problems at the schools with gangs of kids attacking other children on the playground. Playground teachers 'never see anything'. Both the superintendent and the Elementary principal flatly denied that there were any bullying problems within their schools and the principal even claimed my son was fabricating stories to 'get sympathy'. I found by talking with other parents, that this is a very common problem at Hillsboro. I have a child with ADHD. When I went to his 3rd grade teacher for assistance, she said she 'could not treat him in a special way', and maybe I should work with him more at home, because she was doing her job.' We are now moving back out of Hillsboro solely because of this.
