I have 2 children at this school and I am not impressed. This school zone consists of mostly low income neighborhoods, resulting in zero funding, this leads to poor facilities and no additional services like counselors and such. The 3-5 teachers seem to be better than the k-2 teachers. The principal is only there part time because the school is so small. There is 1 class for each grade and the class sizes vary from 17-25. The teachers are nice but struggle to control the larger classes and deal with discipline issues. Do not buy your children nice school supplies, because all supplies brought to school are combined and distributed as community supplies with or without your permission. Parent involvement is minimal because volunteer opportunities are poorly advertised if at all. On the other hand the school is very small so all the teachers know all the students. The school also has a before and after school program on site which is very nice in the winter months.

This school may be on the small size, but works for it because it gives the kids more one on one time with the teacher and aids. The staff treat the students and parents like family. This is a really great school!!
