New Rockford-Sheyenne 2 School District

Know your school choice options in North Dakota.

In North Dakota parents may submit an application with the local school board to have their child transfer to a school outside their district (called interdistrict choice). With few exceptions, the school board may deny an application only if it will result in a reduction of the number of students enrolled in the district by more than 20% of the average daily membership from the previous school year.

Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as “in need of improvement” have the right to attend a higher performing school in the district.
