I was a class of 2013 and this school is large but you get the attention you need from counselor and staff. There's a variety of activities, clubs, and sports that you can get involved in. Communication and professionalism are above average. Cheney middle school has an environment which I felt you were safe and productive in. I would recommend this school to anyone.
This school does not communicate well with parents at all. Due dates for projects are never clear. They will not hold children back a grade even if they fail which does not do the student any good. They will not work with students that need extra help unless you have a papers from a doctor with a diagnosis with a learning disorder. Lunch money is always missing from students account and can not be accounted for. I wish my child did not have to go to this school.
From my experience this school has a very well structured curriculum. As far as extracurricular activities go, They offer the basic school programs which are in a competitive atmospere. The school stresses strong parent involvement, especially with homework.
