I am a graduate and though I have nothing to compare it to, I feel it was an excellent experience. I didn't love high school. It's just an awkward time I think. But when I got to college, I found the work to be much easier than expected. That could partially be a reflection of the college as well, but there were people around me who were struggling, so I feel I was well prepared by my teachers at St VM. As for the Catholicism mentioned by some, I'm in the middle about it. I was raised by a strict Catholic family which sticks closely to the Catechism. So by the time I reached High School I knew what was right and wrong (how my parents would feel about what was being taught). It was mostly on point. The sacraments were offered regularly and prayer was a part of every day. If I have the means, I will certainly send my son here when the time comes.

While I have no one in this school, I am acquainted with many people who do and are graduates. This is the only parochial high school that provides education for Special needs students. Their diverse student population is more representative of the real world. The standard of academic excellence is reflected in 98% of graduates proceeding onto higher education. As well as the required academic class work, students are also required to perform community hours each year. Ninety five percent of students participate in extracurricular activities. The school website is www.stvm.com

This school is a joke they are more worried about money and state championships than the kids the problems they have within the school .I guess I cant go into detail do to so called terms and conditions that are allowed on here . So another words you cant express or comment on the negative things within the school or your post will be removed. The ones in charge are clueless as to the issues they have within this school . Many things are overlooked rather than corrected and their disciplinary actions apply to only those in which they choose. They want to pretend they are one big family however that is the last thing this school is.

I am a graduate of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, and I proudly send my son there now! At STVM, the catholicity could not be stronger. Currently the school's focus on the Catholic teaching shines through in it's Spiritual Life which includes: Irish Athletes for Christ, St. Brigid's Fire, Eucharistic Ministers, Kairos, Social Justice, Community Service, Peer Ministers, Right to Life, just to name a few, and the students attend church weekly at St. Vincent Church, with additional Masses in the school chapel on weekdays. Spiritually and academically, the school cannot be matched. I would highly recommend this school to anyone! Check out the website at www.stvm.com to see all the great ACADEMIC AND SPIRITUAL teachings STVM has to offer! GO IRISH!!!!!!!

They say it's a Catholic school. What a joke. Students leave there understanding less about the faith. The teachers can't help them because they are either Muslim, Protestant, or Catholics that don't practice their faith. But, the school hires the "smartest teachers" and focuses on future careers for the students... too bad its not worried about their souls. I would never send my children their until they start showing the truths of the Catholic Church. I doubt that would happen because no one ever wants to "offend" anyone with truth.

If you are looking for an excellent High School for your child, this is it. Under the leadership of an excellent Principal and teachers, that take pride in their work. With the average of 98% of the students, college bound, I think that tells it all. They encourage parents to be involved with their child's academic growth. Their extra currcular activities are many and are open to all who choose to join. If a parent is looking for the best - this is it!
