my daughter has not had any problems, she is an honor roll student. i think the uniforms have been a huge help in the attitude etc of the students. she is involved in sports and choir. there is no school out there without their own type of problems....

We are leaving the Akron Public School system because of Innes Middle school. My son was repeatedly bullied and harrassed and still is and got suspended because he fought back. The school is a mess and I think the law should step in. Some of those kids are ridiculous. Please, don't send your kid there.

I am very disappointed with the staff at Innis Middle School. They seem to only be concerned about their pay checks and not the safety and education of the students. There are thugs that attend this school and is extremely difficult for students to focus on their education.

I experienced first hand that his principal SCREAMS at the children, singles out certain students and, by no means wants to hear what they have to say. When I ask for a meeting with the principal, I get one with the counselor. The 6th grade counselor tries her best to work with the families but, I would prefer to talk to the principal. There are some good teachers there but, my son gets sent to ISS repeatedly instead of being educated. My advice to anyone, do NOT send your child to Innes! If you do, warn them to be careful in the bathroom. That's where a majority of the fights are. My son will not return to Innes next year!

My child went to Innes in 7th grade. That was his first and last year there. That school is a mess. They break state laws. My son needed tutoring and extra help and they said he didn't qualify. He has disabilities. I researched the net and found he does qualify. When I told the counselor this she said 'your doing your homework'. Isn't that their job. Now my child is another year behind. They also need to get control of the kids. The fighting there is out of control. It is not a learning environment. I'm sorry I voted for the levies.

I am very disappointed with the staff at Innes. They have no control of the students. My son was not educated the year he was there. There's fights everyday. It's not a learning enviroment. It's an unhappy place.

Even tho' I am very unhappy with most all our public schools I have found Innes has some wonderful 'life changing' teachers who made such a difference for my child with all F's who now has mostly all A's. My hat is off to Mrs. Davis, Mrs.Manos, Mrs. Brown, a spanish teacher and a coach, also the counselor Mrs. Patches. One complaint is the restrooms have no soap or paper towels and sanitary napkins lay around! That appears normal in all our grade schools too.

I am disappointed in the staff at Innes Middle School. The teacher's act like they are there to just make it through the day, not to actually teach. I do not believe they truly care about the children as much as the paycheck!
