The school has gone down hill since two schools combined. When my child first started going there this school was a school of excellence at a 9 now it is down to a 4. At the same time we lost our wonderful principal and got a different one. Very different, not that different is bad, but the school just does not seem as welcoming. We as parents want our old school back where everyone works together. Teachers and Parents, to help our children succeed.
Rimer is a great school. The teachers and principal are very involved and motivated in making sure that your child achieves his/her academic goals. This school is very dedicated to reading and many parents volunteer their time to come help the children. The neighborhood (Allenside/Nesmith Lake) is also actively involved with Rimer and so many of us that went there have stayed in the neighborhood so that our children can have the same wonderful experience that we did at Rimer.
Rimer is a unique school. The teachers are awesome. I have my children excel in reading and math. The teacher are consistent with all the children and are continuously involved. If there is a problem the teachers let you know immediately. The principal does an excellent job with the children and staff. She is encourages involvement with parents. She gives them every opportunity to be involved and stay involved. Rimer also has a very strong PTA which is essential to any school. I am proud to be a Rimer Parent.
