My child attends this school and has ADHD. 2nd grade has been a HUGE challenge. They change teachers for math, reading, science, etc. That is a difficult task for an 8 year old child with ADHD! I've asked for conferences, left voice mails, talk to the principal... nothing! No response from either teacher! My child continues to struggle bringing home Ds and Fs while the teachers give As and Bs on the report card! How is that helping?!?! I can't get any of the staff to listen to my concerns. I'm currently looking into open enrollment in another school out of Akron Public District! If you're moving to the area, look at Mogadore, Green or Uniontown school district! Stay out of Akron Public Schools!

Windemere is a great school. It has a dedicated staff and a strong, supportive principal. The PTA is fantastic and they are always doing many fun activities for the children - and for the staff.

Windemere is a great school! The children are all friendly and the parents are very involved. There is a great PTA and a very caring involved Principal. Our son is in the 3rd grade and with the exception of second grade, each year has been wonderful! Most of his teachers have been very helpful and kind....they really go out of their way to help him succeed! I think Windemere is a great school!!!!

In 2010-2011, the Ohio Department of Education used the Value-Added Measure to show how much growth students made on the Ohio Achievement Test since the last school year. The state expects that student test scores will show an average year's worth of growth compared to test scores from the previous year. Ohio's Value-Added Measure is not the same as Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), a federal measure which uses different criteria.

About the tests


Ohio uses the Performance Index to provide an overall indication of how well students perform on its standardized tests each year. The Performance Index scores are based upon how well each student does on all tested subjects in grades 3 through 8 and 10. Schools and districts earn anywhere from 1.2 points for each student scoring at the advanced level to zero points for each untested student. The Performance Index ranges between 0 and 120, with 100 as the statewide goal for all students.
