Ellet, like all Akron Public Schools, suffers from a systemic problem. The teachers are generally good. However, there is no accountability on administration, staff and teachers due to the systems inability to bring the schools into the 21st century. Though this problem is easily remedied they refuse to fix the problem and those ranging from it. Any simpleton can see what needs to be done. The funds are there. The cost of educating a single student in Akron is higher than what it costs per year to send a child to some of the best private schools in the area. It's absurd! Believe me I know, I am an involved parent. This system could be fixed but until the progress of students can tracked daily so parents can be involved real time in their childs progress it will remain in the bottom 1/3 of publc High Schools in Ohio. It's bad!

Very much like a small town school in the middle of a city. Music and performing arts are very well done. Sports are competetive, girls usually out do the boys. Most of the students are from the Ellet area so participation in all extracurricular activities is high and parental involvement excellent.
