This school has a well deserved reputation for tolerating bullying. In fact, some of the student bullies have parents who work at the school, who know what their kids are doing & do NOTHING about it. Do NOT send your kid here.
As a recent graduate of Seneca East, I can say that I have really enjoyed my high school experience overall. The student body is very supportive and there is a strong sense of commitment to the community. Also, the school and its technical facilities are top notch! Very impressive appearance, size, competence, and cleanliness. The gymnasium and theatre are in a class of their own compared to other area schools. However when it came to academics, Seneca East's curriculum was far from challenging. Many of the departments (ie: Spanish, History, certain English courses) and their teachers are pretty lackluster. Because the administration has such little expectations, certain teachers put forth very little effort. Now, I can't talk smack about certain departments without giving credit to a very constructive science and music department- minus the choral division... Overall- a great high school experience. I wouldn't trade it for anything!
Administrators lack effort and motivation to ensure teachers are teaching and not just standing around in the halls talking. My child wastes a lot of time doing nothing while teachers are out of the room and they are unattended. We'd move if we could so he could attend a better school.
I go to another school presently and I went to Seneca East in Jr. High and am attending SEHS my senior year and I'm so excited to get back to a school that I can be proud of, care about, and work my hardest in my studies and can see the results pay off. Kids there at Seneca East aren't put into categories in academics, sports and other activities. Kids there have the chance to pursue whatever dream they may have and going to SEHS helps them out tremendously. I am very proud to say that I am coming back and am going to be a Seneca East Tiger such as my grandparents did when they graduated. I love this school!
