St. Peter Chanel High School

Our son is a senior and attended since grade 9, we found that the values we wanted reinforced were intrinsic to the core values of most parents, administrators and teachers and now that he is nearing graduation, I see that our son has taken up most the same values and has been on the honor role since day one. He was part of the renaissance soccer team headed by two great men, who instilled strong and fair values as did the Principal and staff and several teachers especially from drama, religion and science departments. He also was coached and played golf his first year by another great coach. I admire the young man our son has become and strongly feel his years with St. Peter Chanel were instrumental in his development; academically, emotionally, mentally and socially and see the same in his peers. We thank the principal and support staff and certain teachers who helped him and us through a trying period to find a mutually positive resolution to a serious issue, the support has been outstanding, this resolution alone speaks to the support the school gives its students and parents.

i got the school. i am know a junior. it is ok. i kinda like it. but there are some flaws. but the msot i like about the school it that theystand up for what they believe in. and they are willing to help people, that need help and you have more nicer students who can at least hep if you need. iam used to the school. but every school is not perfect. it is a great and wonderful. learning progress school. it has very smart and talented people into. it.

I too am the parent of a junior at Chanel and I too disagree with the Dec 27th post. The school has done nothing but help my child. He falls a little short academically and they have offered him tutoring, encouragement, and a sense of ' I can do this ' attitude.. The teachers are kind and my son has respect for all of them. My older child attended another catholic high school in the area and did not get as much out of his experience. I would highly recommend Chanel.

The post made on December 27, 2007 is almost 100% false. My son at Chanel is a junior and has classes that rang from as little as 8 students to as much as 20, most of them having less then 15 kids. The teachers are amazing, for example Joe Rock can talk and teach anyone, ive seen kids who hate school walk into his class and enjoy what they are learning. The statement about Chanel not liking parents who disagree with them is also false, Ive had Sister Maria call me personally to talk about my concerns. In fact the teaching staff takes time to talk to students who are feeling left out and thinking of transfering, and most of the time the student will stay at the school and join a club or a sports team.

I am a recent Chanel High School graduate. I feel strongly that I made the best decision for my Catholic education. Many of the class sizes are relatively small; however some of the classes (religion & foreign language in my case) were a bit larger. The faculty is composed of many individuals who genuinely care about the success and well-being of each student. Chanel also offers many unique extracurricular programs. If you re looking for a great Catholic education in a diverse environment, Chanel may be the right choice for you. Some Advice: Schedule a tour that allows you to shadow a current student through his/her day. Come prepared with plenty of questions for both students and teachers. Make sure you tour the entire campus and don t fall for it: There is no pool on the roof! Good luck in your search, and may you always seek what is above!

I am a parent of a current student and a 2005 graduate of Chanel. I have a student going into High School but I will send her elsewhere. I like the fact that Chanel is a family environment, but I don't believe they are equipped to handle students that fall outside of the normal learning curve. I'm not carzy about many of the teachers there. While they are good people, I don't like the teaching style there (or lack thereof). Overall, I say one can get a quality education there, but check out other schools before making a final decision

Chanel does not have small class sizes. This current school year 07-08 there are classes with 25+ students. Chanel administration does not like parents that disagree with them. Chanel is good at making sure their negative incidents are not made public. Before you consider Chanel try to talk to a diverse group of current or noncurrent parents of Chanel. My child is a student there now. Good Luck!

A very good Roman Catholic education. Class sizes are small to medium and teachers are great. Most of the teachers stay for a very long time. Which has given the school stability and continuity in their mission to educate students inteh Marist fashion
