I love St. Mary's! We live in a city with an excellent school district, but I chose to transfer my kids to St. Mary's. I believe it is the best grade school in the area and provides the best education. Low student-teacher ratios and friendly, energetic caring teachers and staff. Before and after school care is fun for kids and affordable. My kids love the computer lab and Spanish classes. It's amazing what my kids are learning, they are well in advance of their public school peers, well worth the tuition.
GREAT SCHOOL! We have 8 children, all of whom have graduated from or are currently attending St. Mary's and we are very pleased. There is truly an attitude of Christianity exhibited by the faculty, staff and students. Our children have done exceptionally well as they have gone on to high school thanks to the great education they have received at St. Mary's. There is a nice diversity of students and St. Mary's does their best to meet the needs of all. We wouldn't want our children anywhere else!
We have two children at St Mary's (1st and 4th grade) and we like it very much. This school offers A great atmosphere for learning and a good sports program.
It's all about the money at this school. Your student will get the help and attention if you have money, no cash, and no attention. The teachers in grades Pre-k though 2nd are great after that discipline is a real problem. There is one teacher in the Jr. High that even stirs up the boys. This teacher enjoys dishing on some of the students, and then the students copy his behavior. The administration does nothing to discipline certain children because they come from money. This school is certainly a keep up with the Jones kind of place. Both of my children left after 7th grade, we should have left sooner, but the staff at St. Mary's cultivates a fear of the public schools. My children attended Ford Middle School and Midpark High School and have done very well (top 10) and are much happier there.
I will move my son out of this school at the end of this semester. I am very disappointed about the teachers in his class and the leadership of the principal.
I currently have two children who attend St. Mary's. My oldest son, who is graduating this year has earned a scholarship to St. Edward High School, and my youngest is at the top of his Kindergarten class. The staff (teachers, aids, and adminstration) is wonderful. The parents and children are expected to give 110%. If your have a child who wants to succeed, then St. Mary's is the place for them. The atmosphere is loving and wonderful. Your child will work hard, but he will also benefit in the end.
My daughter has been at St. Mary's for two years and has truly benefited from all aspects of the school. I highly recommend it, especially for students who have a high aptitude.
I took my tow youngest sons out of St. Mary's 2 years ago for a variety of reasons. They are both thiving in an excellent public school system. St. Mary's needs more services for children who learn differently and more accomodations in the regular education setting. They choose to put money into other things like Drama instead. Two of my children did wonderful there but if you're children need services- look elsewhere. They are not willing to go the extra mile for families who would go the extra mile for them.
I currently have two children attending St. Mary's and do not plan to continue their education there after this year. St. Mary's has an outstanding academic curriculum and has a lot to offer to the above average student. There is approximately 1-2 hours of homework each night and little to no help from the teachers. The principal does not return calls or help with any solutions to problems occurring. And, they do not enforce a Christian atmosphere. There is a lot of 'keeping up with the Jones' '. The parents can be very clicky as well. I do NOT recommend this school.
I went to St. Mary's until I transfered to a public school system in which I am extremely happy with. St. Mary's was okay for me in the primary grades but I felt that once we got into multipication I struggled because of the new program.
