My daughter has attended GCS since Kindergarden. GCS is an academically advanced curriculum school. The classes are 1.5 years ahead, so you want to keep this in mind when looking for a school for your child. The rigourous pace is not for every student. What you can expect from GCS is an EXCELLENT academic curriculum that is advanced. You can expect honest, genuine teachers who actually care about your child and who will genuinuely love and respect your child. You can expect teachers who will meet your child where they are and will PRAY for your child. Your child will make great friends. There is nice amount of diversity at the school. The families at GCS are awesome! I'm going to be honest, there is a LOT of work, but your child will be encouraged every step of the way! GCS is comparable to Columbus Academy and maybe Wellington if you are trying to make a comparison. I would encourage you to visit and experience it!

Grace Christian should be on any parent's short list of schools if they want their child to receive a fabulous education. This year, a former GCS graduate is valedictorian of their 2000 student school, and another is salutorian of theirs. Still another is first in his class as a junior. The sixth graders travel to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Washington D.C. while the eighth graders go to New York City. On both trips the students learn about our country's history and the role that the Christian religion has played in it. The teachers love the students and it shows. Alumni keep coming back for visits and remember their time at GCS. Students take Spanish, technology, music (the school also has 5 orchestras, a choir, and a vocal ensemble), math (up to HS algebra and geometry), history, science, and language arts. Five students were recognized by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History for their entries in the National Civil War Essay Contest. The school also offers athletic teams in volleyball, soccer, basketball, and track and field with schedules that include private and public school throughout Central Ohio. GCS also offers drama, Latin, and an outstanding student yearbook.

Grace Christian School is simply outstanding. The school is strongly oriented towards preparing all students for college. When many schools are cutting back on programs, GCS offers so much, and all of it is of outstanding quality. The honors options for older students are unparalleld in other similar schools. We have had three students attend GCS, and all loved the experience. The teachers and administrator are incredible.

I have two children enrolled in Grace. My oldest is entering her fourth year. The faculty is dedicated and they truly love the students. If you want to see the value of Grace Middle School, attend graduation. One can see how much the students, teachers, and administrator mean to each other. The graduating students gave testimony about their time at Grace: it was candid, unscripted, and very sweet. What stood out to me, as a parent, is how many graduates said, as excited as they are about high school, they hate to leave because Grace is more than school, it s family. From teenagers, these words carry weight. The teachers gave good-bye messages, through tears, to students who clearly matter to them. I was incredibly touched and I am so thankful to be able to offer the blessing that is Grace to my own children.

This school is great for elementary students. They offer foreign language at an early age, and Latin as well. Their sports are increasing, but they don't have a musical band, which would round off the overall school experience. They teach at a level far above what public school offers. Children are greeted daily by loving caring staff. Your child will build confidence and definitely have a sense of Christian living and love. HOWEVER, when they reach middle school (6th) there is a more punitive environment that works well for girls but not so well for boys. Education tends to already be female centered, so more male staff would be a huge benefit this school. Additionally the school would benefit by increasing the cultural diversity in their staff to mirror the increasing diverse student population.

I am sad to say that I agree with the last parent. My child received an excellent education K-5th grade and I still believe that the elementary school is strong. However the middle school is lacking. Third year into the middle school, the teachers are the same and there is lack of communication with parents. I feel the middle school teachers make things up as they go and my child doesn't receive the quality education as he/she once did. There is no consistency between the middle school teachers as far as expecatations or discipline. The New York trip is an added expense and felt parents should have been asked first., much more expensive than D.C. School doesn't have same feel at all and does feel more like a business. I really don't feel that the middle is worth the cost. Save your money.

This school was great 6 years ago and has greatly gone down hill since. Since trying to expand the school it has been operated like a business, only in it for the money, and forgetting about the kids. Yes, the curriculum is great but the teachers care less and less and the parents are left in the dark. The only reason I would recommend it to another parent is for K and ask for Ms. Graley! She is the best I have ever seen! I have had 3 kids in the school and now am leaving to go elsewhere. I am tired of dumping TONS of money into the school where my kids are getting less and less every year ($15,000 +/year for 3 kids). They nickle and dime you for everything. We are literally counting the days until school is OUT!!!

Grace Christian School is the best kept secret in the city! I am so impressed with the academic excellence that the students are exposed to in Kindergarten. The students are peforming academically on a much higher level in comparison to their peers in other schools. I was a little nervous at the beginning of the year, not sure if my daughter could do the work, but the day she came home reading, I had tears in my eyes. She loves to read me her books at night time before bed, it is remarkable! The Principal is genuinely concerned about the best interest of all of the students. I am grateful how both the principal & teacher partnered with me to help my daughter transition 'emotionally' from a Reggio Emilia program where she was being labeled to Grace where she is being challenged! GCS is a strong balanced program!

this school is the best school in the world in my opinion. I was taught leadership, Godly character, and top of the line education. Amazing school, staff, and education. This school prepared me fully in my journey to high school. the educational and spiritual experience was unbeliveable. I wouldn't change it for the world.

GCS is an excellent private school. The level of instruction is far superior to local public and private schools. I would recommend GCS to any parent looking for a high quality education for their child. There are many activities still at GCS that have been removed from other schools including: art, general music, orchestra, technology, spanish, latin, drama, dance team, state spelling bee's, math olympics, finance, and physical education. GCS supports the 'whole child' approach to engaging and teaching our children. V.H.

As a former student at Grace Christian School, I am amazed at its growth and how it has touched the families of the children who are or have gone here. The teachers are excellent and care for the students, the staff in the office are friendly and loving, and the principal, Cynthia Phillips, is the best principal ever because of her attitude and how much she puts in to care for the students, staff, and families. I loved the academic chances the school gave me as well. As I entered middle school, because they hadn't opened it here yet, I took every honors class I could and excelled and new more than my piers as I entered because of the education I received here. I just want to thank GCS for turning me into a leader and helping me excell in today's world.

As a former teacher as well as a parent I can attest first hand to the superior education my child received while at GCS as well as the caring, nurturing teachers/staff who strive to keep Christ as the center of their lives both in and out of the classroom. Each week, I watched my daughter blossom into this confident, enthusiastic little girl who was so excited about learning new things! Everyone she came in contact with loved her and cared for her with the love of Christ. Mrs. Phillips truly has a heart for each and every child that enters that building. Her first priority is providing a Christ centered superior education and that is truly what your child will receive at GCS. Now that we are living in another state and searching for another great Christian school for our children it's become quite apparent that GCS is one of a kind!!

I could not have asked for a better school. Everyone in the school is completely dedicated to all the students. My Kindergartner learned more her first year in school then some kids learn in 2 or 3 years! We are truly blessed to have found such an amazing school and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone! Mrs. Graley (Kindergarten teacher) and Mrs. Phillips School Principle) are the best !!!!!!!

This school has been a big part of our family. It has grown quickly over the last few years. This is a school that has strong leadership and strong parent relationships. Communication is key to success for students and it is in place.

I love Grace. My son is starting violin in the first grade. He is excited to go to school. The technology and Spanish classes are amazing. All the teachers know my family by name. It feels like one big family. Now I don't worry about my sons education. Thank you Grace Christian!

This school is a blessing to me. They are loving, caring people in the staff. They are small enough that the staff knows my son by name. He loves going to school! They have an excellerated academic program. My son has learned and exceeded the highest scores. They have wonderful teachers!

As a parent, I am thrilled about the education our children are receiving at Grace Christian School. Where else can children learn to play the violin, learn a foreign language, participate in accelerated reading, and be in a technology program in kindergarten? Yes, kindergarten! Our oldest will be eligible to take the SAT as a 7th grader, and our youngest, who is in first grade, is an avid reader. The teachers are all wonderful, and love spending time educating our children. The entire school staff knows every child by name. Because of the high level of interest in this school, it is in the process of building a new addition, complete with SMARTboards. This Christ-centered, warm, family environment was exactly what we were looking for in a school, plus we are getting first class academics.

I have one child who attended Grace Christian school and has graduated. I highly recommend this elementary private school. The opportunities in the performing arts were wonderful. My child learned a stringed instrument at an early age, and is now in a local youth symphony. Academically, my child placed in the above average sector in Jr. High School. I'm very thankful for the caring staff and wonderful teachers by which my child had opportunity to be nurtured.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
