I believe in Pastor Rod Parsley and his amazing ministry; I just don't believe he has any ideal of the lack of caliber of the many employees. I have witnessed first hand for two years teachers that have to continue to tell me they are in charge of a classroom rather than just being in charge. I have received school communication that is grammatically incorrect, listened to teachers speak using non-standard English and watched in dismay as children are labeled as "trouble" when in reality they are advanced and need more academic stimulation. I believe this school was created to fulfill a might vision and purpose; however, until each staff member lines up with that cause, the school will not fulfill what it's purpose is. This is my 3rd attempt with this school and if you have children that are behind and struggling below grade level-- then this may be a great option. If you have an advanced and highly intelligent child that needs academic stimulation; seek another option. From Pre-k through high school, HPS has not been able to provide the needed academic enrichment.
My daughter has been going to HPS for 4years. And she has grew spiritual as well educationally. Even thought EVERY schools has issues. I wouldn't have my daughter anywhere else in Ohio. And am very blessed to have the option to do so.
I have a son and daughter enrolled in HPS for 2 years now. Last year was the beginning of success for my son, now in 6th grade. He used to despise school and his grades were below his ability. HPS exemplifies christianity while making sure students are successful academically. HPS definitely supports students being well rounded. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the school and staff!
I have 3 children that have attended HPS and it has been a great experience. My oldest son graduated in 2008, passed all the state test and attended an Ivy League College (Heidelberg University) in which he graduated. My daughter, who played on the 2010/2011 girls basketball state championship team; also graduated and attends college, she was a head of her other peers in english. Harvest Prep is a wonderful school for kids to attend and receive a christian education. The atmosphere is christian and the teachers really care about the students. The education is of great quality. I would not send my kids any where else. Hats off to Pastor Parsley for hearing the voice of the Lord and being obedient.
I believe that if you want a school that is going to help your child, do yourself a favor and enroll at Harvest Preparatory.
My son attends this school and I am so happy that even at the kindergarten level, he gets spanish, music, chapel, and computer lab weekly. The parent teacher communication is excellent and I would not send my child ANYWHERE else! There is nothing that my son is missing out on. They are ahead of the game!!
I gave this school 5 stars because my daughter has been attending for the past 2 years and has had some of the greatest teachers that I'll ever know. She has learned so much being there including Spanish in Kindergarden and the phonics program they have set up is awesome. My 5 year old can read above her education level and I enjoy the extracirricular activities they have set-up for the children during the school year and after school. The Christian based atmosphere is wonderfully given through the staff through enstiling worship and faith in God and Jesus Christ. My daughter teaches me things about the Lord that I my self never knew.
We are glad that we chose to send our child to HPS. Our child has attended HPS since Kindergarten and is currently in Second Grade. Along with getting an excellent education, our child is learning to be a spiritual servant of God Almighty! Our child's teachers are attentive and readily work with students and parents. We receive daily reports of our child's work and behavior. The leadership is caring and structured. HPS is involved with the community and places a strong emphasis on giving/helping others. HPS provides many extracurricular opportunities for their students - band, sports, clubs, and community outreach. Go Warriors!
My son began at HPS at 3yrs old in the Pre-K program and is currently in kindergarten! We have had a great experience here and God willing he will continue here through 12th grade graduation. The staff has been exceptionally wonderful to me and my family. I have been able to have direct contact with my childs teachers, which I truly love because I am a very active parent. We love HPS, and you and your family will too! I encourage you to visit the school, tour, and most importantly pray about it and see where the Lord directs you.
We are blessed to have our child in this school. Wonderful, caring teachers. Always there to help in any way the can. Excellent education. :)
This school was the last option for our son which is a Junior this year. His previous school was bias towards certain cultures and the teachers showed no encouragement nor compassion for what he and us as his parents were going through!. I will not list the name of the school, but; our sons previous school made him and us miserable. Harvest Prep has given our son his confience back and he is excelling in his classes. We love this school so much that myself (mom) wish I could re-enroll in high school so I could get the academic and spiritiual experience that I myself was not influenced with when I was growing up. In our opinion if their is a child that is attending public school, and the parents are not pleased with their children's outcome then I would encourage them to seek Harvest Prep. The administration, teachers and financial aid office are caring and compassionate in your child's learning and walking in a Christian lifestyle. We love it there and I wish I would have made the move a year sooner!
My oldest daughter went her when she was 3 and 4 an we moved away. She is now 13 and I have a 6 year old. This is our first year back at HPS and I love it!! My kids love going to school and the environment is wonderful for spiritual growth as well as educational growth. The year has just begun and my 8th grader as done awesome. She hand my first grader has made honor roll and I am so proud. They want to come to school and don't want to miss a day. I have gotten to know the staff and I can say I love them. My kids are involved in many school activities and I giving HPS nothing but accolades on how they work with the students as well as the family's that walk through the doors.
My school is Harvest Prep. They have a great school with excellent teachers. I would agree with most of you that the past for HPS has been bad. But not as bad as everyone thinks. But a lot of things have changed in the past 3 years. And you really wouldn't know of the improvements and changes that have occurred and made HPS better unless you are inside, or willing to listen and be open minded to the truth. They graduate 95% of the students and 92% of them graduate from college. That's impressive facts. The administration there is really student friendly and have helped in the change for a better future and a school that kids want to come to. Mr. Dennis and Mr. Mills is exactly what the school needs and what the students love. I hope they never leave or get fired. The discipline has improved and the education has taken a serious turn to where they are definitely ready for college. And, it's a Christian base school. Not over doing it, but enough to allow the kids to make a decision on their faith and trust in God
My son has been going to this school for two years now, and from what I see it is a pretty good school. He's only in the first grade, so i don't know what might be the problem with the older students. I do however know that compared to our home school it excels. My son is learning a lot and loves this school. I think the problems I have with it are not being able to go to the classroom and having to wait in a single pickup lane for car riders. They say it's for security.
This school has really lowered their standards. It was a great school before (years ago) however I would consider it average, if was a public school. I expected better for a private school, save your money or pick another Christian school.
I am the new principal at HPS (started in Sep 2011). We are excited about the changes that are taking place at HPS. We are renewing our focus on superior quality academics and outstanding school culture. We are proud of our facilities and our Christian-centered environment. Our athletic teams are competitive but academic success comes first. We are a college preparatory school that believes that all students can learn. Please come and take a look to see if we can serve your children.
All my children have attended Harvest Prep and have had a quality education. They have gone on to college and excelled academically and spiritually.
This school showed such a bad religious discrimination by saying that they cannot admit our child as me & my husband follows a different religion. That policy being followed by that school is some thing that need to be corrected immediately as they are trying to force some one change their beliefs if they have to give their child a better education
I agree with the fact that the school has lost it's foundation and due to greed it has put spirituality aside. The children that attends this school are not learning what they should be learning. The children are learning more about sex then about christainity. The school are doing away with activities in order to keep the monies they get from the state for themselves. they promissed so much and deliver so litter.
I have two children that attend HPS and they love going to the school. They have a new principal that is wonderful. I highly recommend this school. You should take anew look at this school.
