We moved to Centerville so that our children could attend PVS and other Centerville schools. PVS is full of thoughtful teachers who care about the full development of children. They understand the importance of educating children in traditional subject areas as well cultivating character and other lesser tangible qualities. I have been only pleased in our years with the school. Where else can students go to school and receive instruction by a trained naturalist? They are head and shoulders above the rest!

I love the school's appearance it was new, clean, not too many germs. I didn't like the cirriculum or lack there of... my child came home a lot talking about nature, its alot of volunteers going in and out, and his learning and development was not consistent.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.

Parent involvement
  • We typically have 100-200 parent and community volunteers assisting in our school each year. we use volunteers in our library, cafe, classrooms and as tutors for students needing extra practice of skills or enriched skill work.
More from this school
  • We are a very child centered school which means that our students have a voice in shaping routines and rules in their classrooms. Their interests guide our inquiry based instruction. The students' thoughts and questions are important and are validated by our responses. We also know the importance of families in the lives of young children and invite families into our school many times each year.
