Having come from another district into Finneytown was tough for my son at 6th grade, because the district is little and the kids literally grow up together but once he found his niche he bloomed, joined almost every club, played sports and in the band. The parent participation is absolutely amazing-the district as a whole goes with the "It Takes a Village" mentality. If you have an issue or concern there are plenty of ways to get help in and out of the schools. My son is in the college prep route and has taken many AP and Honors courses in FHS and is always challenged and excited to learn! I believe if you are an active parent in your child's life and get involved in Finneytown schools the "

If your child decides to push his/herself at this school then the sky is the limit. AP classes are offered for every type of student (math/science, language, history, art), boys athletics are very competitive, the performing arts are top-notch with the orchestra, band, and choral programs competing at the state level every year, and the racial/economic diversity is among the best in the tri-state area. It is easy to get involved with the wrong crowd here however, as fights/drug and alcohol incidents are not uncommon at all, but as long as your child has a good head on their shoulders, they can go here, excel and experience little to no problems.

Finneytown High School is a great public school. For the amount of tax dollars and the way education is funded in Ohio, Finneytown does a marvelous job. Course selection can be limited because of the schools small size. If kids do not get an excellent education at Finneytown , its their own fault.

The AP classrooms are good learning environments. Outside of AP classes, the education is minimal. The teachers do not have enough time to teach because they are tending to disciplinary problems.

Finneytown is the type of school where you can work hard and go anywhere you want to go in life, or one where you can just show up to and four years later leave with nothing. However, the positives outweigh the negatives, and its fair to say that Finneytown is a fine school.

the teachers are mostly young, dress like the students and are unable to command respect. This has resulted in lack of discipline, unruliness in the halls, terror and pandemonium in the lunchroom. The teachers are also not teaching very well. They would rather sit and tell stories about their personal lives, and are unable to reach the students in a meaningful way. My kids come home and tell me that they are

I am a recent graduate of Finneytown High. The program there is unbelievable. College this past semester has been extremely easy, because of the preparation I received at Finneytown. Even as an honors student, the AP Program taught me how to do well in college. I went to Finneytown for 10 years.. I don't know where I would be if I hadn't attended! :)

Our two children are Finneytown grads: both took most of the AP courses offered, scored very well on ACT and SAT, were National Merit Scholars, received academic scholarships to college and graduated from college with honors. Did FHS faculty make a difference? There is no doubt that the quality of instruction inspired both kids to do there best and laid a solid foundation for performance in college. Finneytown is a great, small school with an opportunity for high achievers to achieve great heights! Plus, there is very positive community support.

Finneytown High School is a great school. They offer a variety yet a challanging level of academics. My child is in advanced cources and feels very challanged. The support from the staff is excellant. I am a FHS graduate and feel the education is there if the student wants to go for it. I was well prepared for college and had no trouble succeeding. Thanks FHS!
