My child started attending PRE in 3rd grade after the narrow grade range took effect. He came from Welch Elm. and after having such a great experience there, this was a disaster. The students have no respect for the teachers, themselves or their education. The teachers do not like direct communication with the parents, in turn, the students are hard to discipline and have no desire to learn. We are looking to move our child out of this school as soon as possible to an environment that will be safe and bring education back to the top priority. No one has control in this school but the undisciplined children with nasty attitudes and that is not the environment you want your child to start their elementary learning experience. Be sure to have open communication with your child in this school because it has been found that if they are sick and want to go to the nurse, there has been instances where your children will be called liars and kept in class and you, as the parent, will not be notified. I wish the board of education would step in and fix the problems in the school before things keep getting worse.

Teachers are great and try their best, but the school has many disapline issues. I no longer feel my children are safe and getting a quality education because of this. I will be looking to move my kids somewhere else.

My daughter is currently in 5th grade. I cannot say enough good things about PRE. In 5 years, we have not encountered a teacher we didn't love. The curriculum is challenging, as reflected in the above-state-average OAT scores. My girl has learned things I never studied until middle school. Last year, the staff worked tirelessly to have the students compete in the First Lego League, an extremely involved, global science organization (google it up!). It was a great experience for the kids; my daughter loved it. This event is just one example of several activities for families and students to participate in, both academic and recreational. What's also important to me is the diversity of cultures; PRE has a nice mix. Finally, the teachers know and truly care about the kids; it's refreshing to see kids running to hug the staff on a daily basis. I recommend this school to anyone!

I love Pleasant Run Elementary. My children are receiving an excellent and challenging education from teachers who honestly care about their success. They are involved in boy scouts, girl scouts, and dance. The principal is outstanding! She is a great person and I love the fact that she knows all the children and have their best interests at heart. The PTA does a really good job of creating opportunities for the entire school family to come together. I really love this school!

The teachers in this school are highly qualified, dedicated professionals. We have a strong PTA, that works tirelessly to support the needs of our students. Our principal is a leader who is involved with all aspects of educating our children.

First,I would like to say that the involvement with the parents are not rated as zeo, academics again is poor as well. The teachers they have are not well trained for the positions they are in, to be teaching
