This is a horrible school. My daughter's second grade teacher did not communicate that my daughter was having problems in school until school conference time. Her teacher never communicated any educational concerns in her log on neither a weekly or daily basis. I am a very involved parent and would like to know how to maximize my child's education but if you do not have the coroperation or effective communication between the parent and teacher then a child can not succeed. The teachers there are not effective educators that do not have time for parent interaction. Don't wait your time. Just pay for private school or move to a better school district.

The pre-school program has been fantastic. I am actually moving to try and ensure my son is in this schools area to attend his elementary years.

Taylor is great. Parents need to be more involved. The staff and PTA try to do extra stuff, but other parents are not interested in helping.

The leadership at this school is a serious detriment. The turnover of staff is also an issue. I ask, 'Why have so many staff members left over the past five or six years?'

What a wonderful school! I am so lucky to have my kids in Taylor Elementary. The staff is so caring, and I have never come across a more professional, experienced, and loving principal. They strive so hard to achieve so much here, and it is so evident if you just open your eyes inside the halls. Every child here gets the attention they deserve, and the tools to be the best they can be. I would never look elsewhere, for my kids youth is too important to me. Taylor Elementary is by far the best school out there all around.

I had two childern in Taylor until I moved to Nashville Tenn. And let me just say that Taylor is a wonderful school for kids. The teachers and staff are wonderful for kids. Rhonda wilson

Most staff are awesome with the kids. Principal seems to employ a 'talk to the hand' policy when confronted by parents. Principal cannot deal with conflict. Secretary on personal calls frequently. Parents not part of school committees including parent involvement even though this is required per No Child Left Behind.

In 2010-2011, the Ohio Department of Education used the Value-Added Measure to show how much growth students made on the Ohio Achievement Test since the last school year. The state expects that student test scores will show an average year's worth of growth compared to test scores from the previous year. Ohio's Value-Added Measure is not the same as Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), a federal measure which uses different criteria.

About the tests


Ohio uses the Performance Index to provide an overall indication of how well students perform on its standardized tests each year. The Performance Index scores are based upon how well each student does on all tested subjects in grades 3 through 8 and 10. Schools and districts earn anywhere from 1.2 points for each student scoring at the advanced level to zero points for each untested student. The Performance Index ranges between 0 and 120, with 100 as the statewide goal for all students.
