Top Notch Catholic Parochial School in Mt. Lookout. Preschool - 8th grade. Strong Academics and Strong Sports Program. Graduates are well prepared for high school at Moeller, St. X, Ursula, Summit, McNicholas, Walnut Hills, Ursuline ..... Nice Environment. Certain groups of friends everywhere one goes. Do not find CP to be any more cliquey than anywhere else. Every Family there because they want a Good Catholic Education for their Children and want them to move on to a good high school.
Unintentionally, my son has attended many schools due to frequent moving and my parental passion to give him the best, well-rounded education possible. Cardinal Pacelli is one of the best schools in Cincinnati! My only drawback was the racist comments/remarks made by children and the lack to strive for diversity. If the parents and administration valued and taught diversity more, this would be the "perfect" school! People are going to be click-ish everywhere you are. People become friends with whomever they want. That shouldn't stop you from awarding your child the best enrichment and education they can receive.
Cardinal Pacelli offers an excellent, well rounded education as well as a supportive and engaged parent community. We are not Cincinnati natives and when we chose Pacelli for our children the welcoming community was a key part of our decision. We definitely made the right decision! We have children in 2nd, 4th and 8th grade. My 8th grader has had an amazing experience and is very well prepared for high school. All of my children enjoy playing sports for fun and being a part of a team. The teachers are dedicated and work with the parents to facilitate character development along with academic achievement. Our children have had opportunities at Pacelli for service projects, International travel and great Scout programs. Our experience has been extremely postive - we have happy, engaged children who are excited about going to school day after day.
Do not be fooled, Pacelli is NOT a good school! Most of its teachers are veeeery below average and hate teaching. The school revolves entirely on who is a "good Cincinnati family" and if you are not a part of a said family, you will be mostly excluded. The school also revolves around sports, and if you do not play a sport, you will also be excluded. It is EXTREMELY cliquey and the students aren't bright at all. If you're thinking about sending your child here, please look at other options.
Our son just graduated from Cardinal Pacelli School, and we have daughters in fourth and sixth grade. We are very pleased with the school, and in fact, our graduating son was admitted to McNicholas, Moeller, and St. Xavier--all with highest honors. The school just finished a beautiful renovation/addition, including a great new science lab. Cardinal Pacelli has caring teachers, active parents, excellent extracurricular activites, and a safe, nurturing learning environment.
Cardinal Pacelli School offers a great learning atmosphere, with newly renovated facilities and a welcoming parish community. The student/teacher ratio is excellent and their students routiniely graduate and continue at the HS of their choice (St. X, Ursula, Moeller, Ursuline, McNick, Summit, and Walnut Hills). My sons, in 1st and 3rd grade, are ahead of the curve academically and are well-mannered, resepctful children, due very much in part to Cardinal Pacelli School.
