I attended Carson from 2005-2008, (4th-7th grade) and I can tell you that the school had no structure at all. Kids were fighting, running from security all the time and just causing mayhem in the classroom. I remember throwing crayons across the room all day and that was my education. I left after the new building was put up, I spent about 3 months in it, they segregated males/females. Felt like prison. I seen a teacher from my 5th grade class at my job recently, at least she was nice.
This is by far the worst school I have ever come across and I've been working in the education field for the past 12 years. My son attended here for a few months 2 years ago and it ended horribly. The bullying in preschool and kindergarten was out of control and lack of attentiveness, care and compassion by the staff and administration was appalling. We were basically disregarded when we tried to advocate for our son.
I have seen that the students at Carson Elementary School are very diverse in the ways of ethnicity, culture and economic background. This makes it extremely difficult for both paid staff and volunteers to accommodate for all of the needs of all students, however my experience with the school and its staff has proven to me that the school does a good job of educating the children as well as helping the children both at school and beyond. A major issue that the school has (due to its location) is that the majority of the students that addend Carson Elementary are from low income single parent families, typically with little education themselves. This makes it difficult for the children and the families of the children in general regardless of the school involved, however If a parent continues to be INVOLVED with the education of their child/children and other children, then any issue can be overcome. This is easiest to achieve by communication between all parties and with open minds between the school, parents and more importantly the children.
carson is not a good school for your kids to attend. They dont have any real discipline for their misbehaved students. If you have a special needs child run as far away from this school as you can. they are unprofessional, unreliable, and barely competent
