This school is young (first graduating class in 2011) but the staff is talented, dedicated, and caring. As a long-time Montessori parent, I have been pleased by the extension of that philosophy in this junior high/high school. Academic classes are important and emphasized, but Gamble also both offers more and demands more of its students. A significant community service requirement (36 hrs/yr for junior high students, 50 hrs/yr for high schoolers) helps create in students a sense of responsibility for our world. Also, the tremendous opportunities afforded students (8th grade marine biology study in the FL Keys, HS intersessions--special intensive projects that give students REAL WORLD learning experiences), as well as the expectation that students help raise money to pay for those opportunities, help Gamble students grow into truly independent "citizens of the world." I am happy that my children are able to attend this school.
