This District as a whole has set a high bar for academic standards and NMS continues that legacy. I love how they conduct Parent/Teacher conferences. The student must attend with the parent and explain what they have been working on during that grade period. It gets the students more involved and makes them more accountable for their performance, or lack thereof. Each teacher who is part of that team eventually joins the conference, but mostly to answer any questions and give input on the child's behavior/progress. The whole process eliminates the 'he said/she said' conversations we sometimes have with our children...smile. In November 2009, NMS had an African-American motivational speaker speak with the students. As a parent of an African-American child I thank you for the message that sent not only to me, but to my child as well. My child talked about it for weeks! Signed, Kemet's Mom

NMS is the best school in Ohio. They are very serious about acedemics and Learning. They give you so many learning opportunities. I, as a student think my organizations habbits and learning skills have grown since i moved to nms. I love this school, people are nice. But Mr.Weekly wont tolerate bad behavior. The teachers are so nice and always willing to help. Anyone who goes here will or has had a great learning expeirence. also with a chance to do sports. Go NMS! :)

Northmont Middle School is a wonderful and fun acedemic Expeirience. The building icludes 7th and 8th graders. 8th graders are mainly on the top floor. so 7th graders dont seem them much, although study hall and explorations (kind of like world history) and lunch are mixed. so that you can meet other students. There are 5 teams for each grade. For 7th Grade, there is Henson, Armstrong, Oprah, Burke, and Spielburg. And for 8th, Disney, Armstrong, Lombardi, Burke, and Kennedy. They are all named after people who influence the world. example, oprah winfret and walt disney. You have classes with mainly people in your team. 7th graders have their own lockers with a built in combination. 8th graders share, with one other person. There is of course band, strings, and chorus. but nms gives you a chance to do musicology. which is like studying music. Thank you!

My daughter attended both years at NMS and I can say I never had one problem with the school or administration. The school keeps parents up to date with your childs academics and rewards those who achieves. The eighth grade trip to DC was well run and a great excerience for my daughter. The school also has a zero tolerence policy when it comes to trouble makers. I was nervous about her starting middle school but after 2 years I couldn't be happier about our experience!

Northmont is a great academic school. The district is growing by leaps and bounds. The school has done an excellent job teaching a curriculum while preparing students for the state's required standardized proficiency and graduation tests.

Northmont middle school is a great school if you want your child to go to a high academic school. Northmont has met its standards on teaching us Teens how to act and how to achieve in this world. Northmont is loaded with teens of all different races. Northmont would have to be the best school in Ohio that i have gone to in years.

This is a very solid academic school (rated excellent by the state). Students are not 'tracked' except in Math. Children are placed on a set team for the year so all their classes will be with other students within their team. The teachers obviously care about the students and work together within the learning teams. Mixed racially and all the kids seem to get along. The school is crowded due to the allure of its high academic achievement.
