Six of my children have attended Benji for the last ten years.Over all it is fairly good, for a public school. I feel that my children are safe in the classrooms, but not in the parking lot as it is set up now. Neither child nor parent should have to walk out into the lot. The buses should pick up and let off at the northern side, but there should be a system for the walkers and those picked up by car. As it is now, it is chaotic and dangerous for both children and parents. In reviewing the sex ed course, I found it to be too much info for the younger grades and inaccurate for the older. The Traditional mother/father/child family is not treated as the norm.

Teachers & Principal are great - very caring and sincerely concerned about the education and well-being of all its kids. Because it is an inner city school it does not have a lot of the funding to do 'extra' things for the kids, e.g. field trips, etc. It would be great if a strong inner city school could be recognized for being good - especially given how many are not.

Benjamin Franklin is the BEST school in America because of it's hard-working, dedicated staff, wonderfully supportive parents, and students who work hard to achieve their best!

I highly recommend this school. My children have been attending Ben Franklin for two years. The academics are much more advanced than many other Cleveland Schools. Both principals, as well as the many teachers I have had the pleasure of working with are very dedicated to helping bring out the best in each child. I have a child that entered this school with Math difficulties; Thru the assistance of her teachers, she has excelled greatly in Math. It is now her favorite subject. Ben Franklin is an awesome school!

my daughter went to this school for three years and i'm taking her out! If yiu are lucky you'll get a good teacher such as mrs. kane or bremmer but other wise...... not to mention the state test scores are low, rooms over crowded, the teachers play favortism w/parents and students, and there isn't alot of communication with the teachers. If you are a concerned parent and want to have conferences with a teacher or principal they act annoyed. i wouldn't reccomend this school.

I was concerned about my daughter going to any Cleveland Metropolitan School. However, she is attending Benjamin Franklin and is having a very good experience. Her kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Thomas, was wonderful. Her first grade teacher is fine, too. After visiting a number of schools, I find that the leadership in the school makes a huge difference. Ms Cantwell is a strong, caring, exceptional leader. She sets the course and keeps the ship sailing smoothly. The kids are doing well, overall, and the school is a safe place to learn. It is clear to me that parents who are involved with their child's learning make a difference, too. All of these elements work together.

im in the 8th grade at benji. i love it there. its such a great school. i dont like it when other people put cleveland schools down, because there just as good. the teachers there understand whats going on and help with almost anything. the only thing i disagree with it the fact mr.combs got transfored to a different school. he was one if the BEST teachers there.

My daughter is going into the 8th grade and my little daughter into Kindergarden there I really like the school, but they should call when your child is absent just in case they are cutting and also they need sports!
