I am so tired of some comments. On one hand we're told that experience matters when you choose a doctor or lawyer but for the teaching professions I hear "anyone can do it, years service should not matter"...then, people complain when they perceive that teachers can not control a class....welll, sounds like maybe years of practice and expeience do matter....and people need to decide what they really want. If it's well managed, well controlled classrooms and obedience then be sure to do some of the followng: 1. practice ad model good behavior in the home 2. support teachers in their efforts 3. demand experienced professionals around the children and not inexperienced people who are "practicing" the latest new craze without any proof that it works? If someone has a chip on their shoulder because their own school experience may have been negative; it's understandable that they will feel negative toward school---but change begins with all of us doing our part. I have talked to quite a few teahers who try as they may to correct/not allow extreme behavior but with little support from people in positions of authority...only parents can demand that kind of change.

I was a student at Carl F. Shuler from my 6th grade year onward. Since that time I have graduated and moved on to Miami University. Being a former student of CFS has made me unique. The change in the schools environment has been drastic. I've personally enjoyed the change I've seen in the school. Alisa Mckinne, Wayne Carroll, Mary Kallio and all teachers and staff now and in former years have helped mold young minds. Shuler enhanced my life and every year I see advancement. I am excited to say I am a product of such a loving environment.

I recently graduated from shuler c/o 08 I was there since middle school and I really loved the school. It is not a bad school, if your child is a troublemaker dont blame it on the school. ow i can agree when it is said that the vice principal seems like she doesn't care bt that was when Mrs. Cargile was the principal and she had another vice principal. They both were not of any good to the school. Mrs.McKinnie is a fair principal and our vice principal may come out as strong but she only wants the best. Thy have improved a great deal, they have more classes, extracurricular activities, etc. I would encourage anyone to enroll their chid in this school, you will not be disssappointed.

I agree with you. My daughter went to that school and we have had nothing but problems. The teachers can not control their classes. I went to the office for some paperwork and the kids were unruley in the hallway using language that should be coming from a truck driver and the teacher didnt do anything about it. They dont seem to care about anything but their own paycheck and it should be more to teaching then that.

This school is one of the worst. My child has so many problems. There are not enough teachers for the students with learning disabilities. The vice princable does not seem to care about the childrens saftey.

Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
