My family is considering a move to the cleveland area. We have a 15 year old Autistic son(moderate). Can anyone suggest or provide some information on the different districts regarding the special ed programs or more specifically the best district to move to for services?

I live in the cleveland ohio area and have a daughter in the special education classes. I live in Bay Village ohio and they have an awsome special education program. You will not be disappointed. If you move in the suburbs in Cuyahoga county you will find that most will provide out standing programs. Bay Village, North Olmsted, Rocky River, Olmsted Falls, Strongsville, North Royalton, Lakewood, Westlake all provide out standing programs. I moved to bay village when my daughter entered elementrary school for the special education program. The school is rated in the top 3 in the state. When you register for a particular school that you like make sure that they test your child to see what there needs are and don't be afraid to fight for what child needs. We are looking to moved to Florida and now I am frighted cause it looks to me that there schools are no where near what we have here. If you have any further questions feel free to ask.

I am not surprise this happened to you the parent with a student at Waterson Lake, Did you speack to anyone at CMSD? This goes on and it is not being corrected by the district. The special liason at Waterson Lake should prevent all students with a disability from missing a lunch and being sent home. This should not be a procedure allowed in any school system.
