An excellent rural/suburban school. Apx. 380-400 students with open enrollment students seeking to leave nearby schools. Excellent, involved staff encourages parental and community involvement. Award winning 'Hosts' mentoring/reading tutor program is a definite star here. Solid facility, less than ten years old. Teachers range in seniority but generally low turnover provides a stable teaching base. Low teacher/student ratio - generally kept at approximately 20 students per class. Community is extremely supportive of school and events generally play to SRO crowds. Mid-rating on 'extracurricular' activities as it is an elementary school - but they do hold numerous family nights and related activities. Involved and effective PTO program with good parent/teacher interaction.
