I graduated from Heartland in May of 2011. At the time, I would say that I definitely would never ever send my child to this or any Christian school based on my experience. The problems that I, among other students encountered, were teachers talking smack about kids and the way that politics ran the school, more money = more power. It was very frustrating to go to a "Christian" school and be subjected to the descrimination there, the faculty especially at the high school level do not practice what they preach. I do appreciate now however, some of the classes required. I.E. relationships class for Bible and Understanding the times. The elementary teachers are very good and I would recommend the school at the elementary level, I would be very cautious however of the high school teachers and faculty.

Heartland Christian School is a wonderful school! Our son has been at Heartland since he was in Kindergarten and he is now in the 5th grade. They(the administration, staff and teachers) continue to amaze me with their willingness to help our children be their best, to be what God intends for their lives. What a blessing and what peace it gives me as a parent to know my kids are in an environment where people truly care about them academically and spiritually. What more could you ask for! I know that our son has done so extremely well academically because of the learning atmosphere Heartland provides! I Praise God for Heartland Christian School!

Heartland is a blessing each and every day to our family. The teachers, staff and administration have loved my children as their own. My children have grown in many ways including: academically, spiritually, and socially. They too are thankful for the education they are receiving at Heartland. Because I have seen many wonderful HCS students graduate and become quite successful, I too will be proud to one day be a parent of alumni of Heartland Christian School!

I HATE this school with all of my heart. I cant stand the teachers, the students are ignorant and everyone their lives a sheltered life. If you send your child to this school, they will not be prepared for the real world. Heartland is too careful and forces everyone to live in a bubble.

Our son is now a senior at HCS and started there as a sophomore. The teachers, administration and volunteers are all first rate and very caring. They even worked to get a golf team started when our son requested it! Heartland has challenged him spiritually and academically, and we could not have asked for a better place for him to learn and mature as a young man. Great school.... thanks Heartland!

5 stars all the way for Heartland Christian School. We live in a 5 star public school district but gladly choose to send our 4 children to Heartland because of the 'intangible' offerings this school has to offer. Yes, the academics are challenging. Yes to the social and extracurricular activities. Heartland is a school and these things are of the highest priority. We wanted more for our kids....the eternal truths of God and Christ exemplified in all they do, including learning.

My son graduated from Heartland last year and is now attending Malone University in Canton. He started at Heartland in first grade. It doesn't surprise me in the least that the school has won this honor. This is a first rate organization from top to bottom. As a parent, you could not ask for a better educational experience for your child. The environment at Heartland will not only change your childs life, but yours as well.

Wow! We have had our children at the school for 5 years now and what a blessing it has been. They have excelled and grown in many different areas: academically, spiritually and socially. I'm so thankful for Heartland.

I finally withdrew my daughter from the school based on the lack of extra curricular activites, the sports program, and the lack of support in raising our children in the ways of God by discouraging church attendence due to homework and sports practices. I will not recommend this school.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our school. It is a large family of support and love. I would recommend the school to anyone. A Christian education is worth everything you put into it, especially at Heartland.

My observations thus far have been of great teacher-student relationships and the friendships classmates develops. I've witnessed a wonderful attitude within your intermural sports between the youth and youth with their adult leaders. I am equally impressed with the reading abilities achieved. I find it exceptional! --Proud Grammy!

My children have attend Heartland since it's inception, and it only gets better each year. The administration and staff are not only well qualified, but they daily show their love and concern to the children and families of Heartland. Heartland's mission statement is to assist families in the training of their children so that they will fulfill God's purpose for their lives. Heartland welcomes and encourages parental involvement, which has always been very important to me.

Heartland has been a great choice for our family! We have really seen some good things there. The teachers, staff and administration really care about the students academically, spiritually and personally. Every student is important! Our son has excelled and has had a very good experience there. He is only in the first grade and I've already had many opportunities to be involved as much as I'd like with his education at the school. My husband and I are very thankful for Heartland!

Community ratings and reviews do not represent the views of GreatSchools nor does GreatSchools check their accuracy or verify the reviewers' identities. Use your discretion when evaluating these reviews.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
