My son is a student at Marburn Academy. Everything they do is different, but so are their exceptional students. My son struggled for years in the public schools because they just couldn't teach him the way he learned. At Marburn, he is catching up to grade level for the first time and we are seeing a huge increase in his self-esteem. Everyone at the school cares and works hard to make this school a wonderful place to be.

From the perspective of a student I didn't necessarily like Marburn because everyone knew I was different. As a result, it was harder to make friends outside of the school. But looking back on my time there (this is weird to say) it really changed my life by giving me the ability to believe in myself. Spending four years at Marburn gave me the tools to be successful outside of the bubble of Marburn. After my time there, I went to a highly competitive school that was raked in the top one hundred in the nation. Being dropped in to a school like that was hard but having the knowledge from Marburn helped me be successful and graduate. I now go to John Carroll University and I am working on getting my MBA thanks to Marburn. It works and the teachers really care. Its a great School.

Marburn is truly a school of excellence! Our son has been attending Marburn for 3 years. He was diagnosed with ADD and Dyslexia. He began Marburn in 2nd grade without being able to read. With Orton Gillingham Phonics being taught instead of Whole Language, our son began to read in just six weeks! At the end of 3rd grade he was reading at a 4th grade level! He loves Marburn for understanding his learning difference. He is now in 4th grade and his reading is oustanding. Marburn is a school where all kids with learning differences are made to feel like they belong.

Marburn Academy truly provides the 'best education for bright children with learning differences.' At his previous school, our son struggled academically, socially and therefore emotionally, even in spite of an IEP and a wonderful intervention specialist, teachers and principal. He has ADHD and difficulties with traditional teaching methods, organization, processing, impulse control, and reading social cues. We did not know what to do with this wonderful, unique, bright, frustrated, sad and angry child. When we found Marburn, our lives transformed. Our son is happy, successful, has friends, is learning, is growing, and has really found his niche in school. The teachers are amazing, and the student/teacher ratios allow for lots of individualized attention which is what these kids really need. We have been thrilled with our experience at Marburn Academy and would highly recommend it to anyone whose child with ADHD or Dyslexia is struggling in a traditional school setting.
