In the past I heard nothing but great reviews about Sonshine as it related to the quality of its education, teachers and staff so naturally it was my first choice in schools for my son. I do believe that Sonshine started with a great foundation and was once a great institution. Unfortunately I am unable to say that I've had a good experience. Some of the staff members are warm and genuninely caring while others are more cold and rude. Administration is often very unorganized, rules and regulations are created on the fly, some staff members seem to not have the ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner. I cant say all this and not point out that the pre-k - k curriculum is beyond amazing. Its a very exceptional program, however all of the other downfalls within the school and its adminstration overcloud the greatness within that program. Enrollment is now extremely low and its unfortunate that what was known to be an exceptional organization appears to be on a downward spriral and I dont see that changing. This program likely needs a brand new administration. My teacher rating reflects my son's current teacher. She is outstanding, the administration is poor.

When my daugther first attended Sonshine the staff was exceptional. Very professional, and on track to help the child succeed. Over the past years I have seen & witnessed the school go down. The fact that the school is located in a neighborhood in which shootings, killings, and drug bust happen continually and the staff still feels the need to send the kids outside. Not only that the front office staff is very unprofessional. None of the policies or procedures are consistent. Many of the times, the front office will implement ad-hoc policies and again never really focus on being consistent with the enforcement. The way the teachers talk to the kids is belittling and rude. There is a way to talk to a kid to help them understand a situation and help the child to understand why their behavior will not be tolerated. I have never prayed for the end of the year to come any faster. It is sad because I absolutely adore my child's teacher. She is great and very professional with the kids. If you are paying anything ensure you have documentation afterwards because they are horrible at keeping up with your payments. This is another reason why enrollment is very low and keeps decreasing.

This school staff should have the love of God in their hearts. Staff was rude and they mistreated my children. Some of the teachers were nice but some bad apples spoiled it for the rest of them. Also, they didn t help my children approve academically.

My daughter attends SCA and she absolutely loves it. She is so excited to go to school and learn about GOD. She can recite almost all of the books of the bible, and she can quote scriptures...She has grown so much, socially, mentally, and spritually. She is currently in Pre-K 4 and she loves her teacher and classmates.

My daughter has been a student at Sonshine Christian Academy since pre-school and I love the education that she has received every year. She has been taught leadership skills and confidence in the Lord. She is challenged and given an opportunity to shine in many different activities. I am very proud of the young lady that she has become and I have Sonshine Christian Academy to thank for a least 50% of it! Very happy!

My daughter has been attending Sonshine since she was 3year old. As this is our first child, I had a difficult time sending her anywhere without my watchful eyes and her daddies. Im so pleased with the care and attention that she received. She will be starting K- in the fall and Im very excited to hear and see her continue to grow as a child of God.

I am exceptionally pleased with the services, teachers and staff of Sonshine Christian Academy. My children have attended this learning institution for the past 7 years and I cant' be more satisfied, Their learning capacity has increased, they have learned fundamental values and they are thriving beautifully. I attribute this to the great investment of the teachers of Sonshine. I'm grateful for a place where my children are safe, where they are learning to be the best they can be and where they excel academically.

Excellent educational institution, teacher/student ratio and superior faculty that goes far and beyond the call of duty with the students and families.

I am very pleased with Sonshine. I have 2 children attending this school. The teachers my children has had are excellent. As long as the standards don't change and the my children stay excited at this school, we will stay. I truly have nothing negative to say about this school. It has been great. My 6th grade son went to public school from K-4th. His grades were awful. Now that he's here his grades have sky-rocketed. Not because it is easy but because his teachers are just excited as he is ( to teach him as well as him to learn). I feel that as long as the children are learning, producing great grades, enjoying school and in a well disciplined environment it would be foolish for us to go be somewhere else.

I am the parent of an exceptionally bright 6 year who has been in attendance at Sonshine since Pre-K4. I am very pleased with my daughter's well roundedness. She has excelled in Math and Reading. I am grateful for the discipline the curriculum has to offer. I pray that she remains humble and not so easily influenced by the worldly things we often loose our childred to. I will continue to send her to Sonshine as long as the Lord willing.

My daughter attended Sonshine from Pre-k 3 through 6th grade. She has been in one of the local independent schools for the past 2 years. She was academically prepared to manage the workload at her new school. Sonshine also helped her to be a confident student. The teaching staff was nurturing and willing to go the extra mile for the students with their high academic expectations. This is a structured and very disciplined environment.

My child is a student at sonshine and i think it is a wonderful school the love the children and they love god and they never would let the kids go without heat noway. Mr. Banks is a wonderful man and i think if your child does not get the chance to go to sonshine they are missing out on alot. It is like one big family there and i just pray that the lord will keep on blessing them because mrs. Jackson dream is very much alive rather there is 2 students in a class or 30 it still is sonshine and we just think god for all those teacher that work almost a whole year without pay i mean no paycheck at all but god wanted sonshine to stay open and they did so it must not be to bad it is still open. God knows best. Know that

My daughter attended Sonshine Chritian Academy this year. She was in Pre-Kindergarten. for the most part I was very pleased with the emphasis on academics even at this early age. Although I felt my daughter should have gone on more fields trips to afford them some exposure to the outside world.

While my child was smaller it was a great school because Deborah Jackson was the president. However, now Mrs. Jackson (the founder) has died and I do not believe that the principle they have in charge now shares that same dream. The enrollment went way down. There are only 10 kids in my daughters 8th grade class. My daughter even tells me that they have no heat. I am not happy with the services, they need to keep up with Mrs. Jackson's vision.
