As a father I feel blessed that both of my children had the opportunity to go to Mansion. My oldest went there for 3 yrs and my youngest 1 yr. The experience truly provided a solid foundation for both of my children. The expectations, teaching, administration, and the environment as a whole was incredible to say the least. The principal was firm, but loving, considerate, but decisive, and most importantly, open to doing whatever was needed to improve the school, in addition to the overall success of each child! My son called me at work from school and mentioned he wasn't feeling well. I knew it wasn't as bad as he said and asked to speak with the principal. She knew my son, in addition to each child well enough, to know what they could handle, in addition to how to get the best results from them. Our son stayed at school and ended up having an incredible rest of the day. The only reason why my children didn't continue at Mansion is because we moved to TX. Experiencing school systems outside of Mansion allowed me to see how great of a school it really is. The only bad thing about Mansion was comparing every other school to it (Didn't compare) and the fact that it's not in TX also!

If you want to give your child the best foundation for success in middle school, high school, college, and thereon, this is the ONLY elementary school you should consider. In addition to its rigorous and unparalleled curriculum, the Mansion family builds the character, confidence, and integrity of its students by way of unwaveringly high expectations and solid example. Because of his Mansion Day School experience, my son can comfortably address a roomful of 100+ adults with great confidence, and still connect with his peers in an intimate conversation. He is socially and academically, highly prepared to succeed in a global community, yet possesses the resilience to conquer the challenges that await him. All of these factors can be attributed to his attendance and success at Mansion Day School. I would recommend this school to anyone who cares about his/her child's future and ability to compete in "the real world". Children feel safe in this familial environment, allowing them to develop, succed, and even fail without judgment. Love and an undeniable desire to see your child fulfill his/her potential fill the halls of this exceptional school.

The education our daughter receives at Mansion Day School is outstanding. It is also a great value when compared to other private schools. The teachers are dedicated to our students and go above and beyond their responsibilities as a teacher. The students have a great rapport with their teachers. The teachers are broadening their horizons. I think what our children receive on a daily basis outweighs any challenges that we experience due to a small administrative staff. Mansion is more than a school. At Mansion, we are family! I encourage all parents in the columbus area to come and catch the Mansion Magic!

I think that the education at MDS is superb; however, the administration is not up to par. I am very big on communication and this is something that is obviously not important to them. We were planning on our children attending this expensive school. We did the tour, the visit the class day, and was given our acceptance letter into the school. We were never given a start date or anything and after many phone calls and emails to the school, none were ever returned. To my disbelief, we were given a call back when it was time to enroll for the foloowing school year. Umm NO we will not be enrolling. If you cant communicate with me when I am trying to send my child there, what would make me comfortable to believe that you will communicate with me when they are students there. Perhaps its a money thing to pay for Ms Dee's maid service in the home portion of the school.

The teachers and staff are the most caring people I ever encountered at any school. I have two boys attending the school and I am more than happy they treat my kids as people and they push them intellectually and in their leadership in a way that makes them feel confident and safe. Thank you Mansion. Highly recommended.

My son, Max Charles, attended Mansion Day School from Kindergarten to the 3rd grade starting in 1998. He is entering his Sophomore year at Haverford College. I firmly believe that his fundamental academic AND social skills acquired at Mansion Day were the groundwork for Max's development, not just as a very academically bright young man but as a really good human being. Miss Dee James saw each student as an individual, special in their 'uniqueness' but not special to the point where they couldn't see that they were all 'related' as brothers and sisters in our world community. She led her teachers to nurture 'the voice's of the students so that they had the confidence to express themselves without fear, to develop curiosity about what they were studying and to delight in being to able to openly ask questions to further their understanding. As you walk in to the building, the respect from the Staff, the Faculty, and students is obvious. The environment is positive. The effect of mutual respect remain with Max, to this day and it is serving him well as he continues to enjoy his studies at Haverford! I am grateful to Ms. James and the brilliant teachers at Mansion Day School.

I love Mansion Day School. As a parent my biggest concern is the safety of my child and his emotional and psychological wellbeing. Mansion is a perfect fit for us. The school has a nurturing environment that allows my son to "love" going to school. He is in Pre-K this year and this is our second year there. After his first year, we cannot imagine him being anywhere else. I am very involved and the teachers are like extended family members. They are so receptive to any concerns and work with me to help my son in any way. Their program is vigorous and challenging but the best part is my child has no idea. He is learning Mandarin and is now teaching me. Ms. Dee is a phenomenal leader and I couldn't ask for more loving and truly genuine principal. I am in there all the time and I truly believe she has the best interest of the kids at hear t and does everything in her power to make sure the kids have all the tools they need to succeed. Thank you Mansion for helping my child get off on the right foot.

Mansion Day is school is such a Blessing for our family. My daughter has attended the school for five years now. She is now in the second grade. She has excelled every year. The teachers are very nurturing and attentive to the kids. The academics are challenging and the kids continue to be up to the task. The small classroom environment is very conductive to a productive learning environment. I would highly recommend this school if you are looking for strong academics coupled with a positive and nurturing environment. Its awewsome!!

Mansion Day School was and continues to be an answer to our prayers as a family. When searching for a school to send our 4 year old to, we first had my mother interview, meet with, and discuss curriculum with many school leaders. After her providing us with a written observation of each school she visited, along with her opinion, the Mansion Day School bar far exceeded the others. Our son is now a first grader at Mansion and continues to rise above our expectations in the educational arena. Just like any other institution, Mansion may not be perfect in all aspects; however, the school is by far the best "kept secret" on the East side of Columbus.

My son is in pre-kindergarten and has attended the school for 19 months. He excels academically and exhibits great leadership. The skills taught at Mansion Day transcend academic achievement. The teachers truly care about the well being of the students. Parents at the school share a common desire of raising successful, intelligent children. A family atmosphere exists where all the kids know each other and can name everyone's parents. Mansion Day is a school like no other and every child that attends is prepared for future excellence.

We love this school, the academics and social aspects of the school can't be beat. The loving nurturing that our son receives , on top of the academics that challenge him are exactly what we want for our son. I would recommend this school to everyone I come in contact with. Love it!

I am on my second child attending Mansion Day School. I highly recommend the school for its educational excellence, caring teachers, strong parent support and family atmosphere. After 4 years (2nd-5th) at Mansion Day School my eldest child has been able to transition to Wellington and maintain high academic excellence. Mansion Day School is ISACS accredited which reinforces the level of excellence maintained at this school. I expect the foundation that Mansion Day School has set will be carried on throughout my children s academic career.

We've been at Mansion for 6 years. I think it's as close to perfect as a school can be. My son loves it and hates leaving. It offers academics in small classes in a loving, disciplined environment. Students build confidence and self-esteem during class presentations or public speaking. They build friendships that last long after graduation. Respect for one another is taught & expected, so older kids often play with/look out for the younger ones. Mansion has done well at making education fun. I have not experienced any difficulties. The school definitely changed for the better with the new administration. The staff is more available; the office staff/principal maintain an open door policy and are quick to address any parental issue. A security system keeps strangers out. The building is being updated and expanded for the school's growth. All this and a premium education for less - you can't beat it!

Both of our children have attended Mansion Day School. Our son attended from the first grade through the fifth grade and our daughter has attended since pre-school and is now a fifth grader. Our son easily transitioned to The Columbus Academy as a 6ht grader and is flourishing, in large part to the foundation that was laid at Mansion Day School. Our daughter is excelling as well. Mansion has undergone an Administrative change and that change was for the better. The Head of School has shown an unprecedented commitment to the growth and development of the students. Mansion's accreditation is solid and in tact. Mansion is producing the same high quality of students that the other three elite Independent schools in in the city are producing at half the cost. Mansion is not perfect, but no less pefect than the other schools. I highly recommend Mansion Day School.

This is my fourth year at Mansion Day School. It is a very special place where students and parents alike are very vital parts of an extended family. The curriculum is competitive and the administration is fair and accessible. I find myself praising the school and its academic and social programming to all who care to listen. There is no other place quite like Mansion Day School.

My children have attended Mansion for four years and not only do they love the school, but we love the results. After comparing Mansion to other area schools, we are pleased with the curriculum and the nurturing yet rigorous classroom experience. While it was not a primary variable for my choosing the school, I am glad that Mansion IS an accredited member of ISACS.

I enrolled my son in the Mansion Day School after finding limited success and progression in Reynoldsburg Public Schools. I transitioned my son to Mansion School after enrolling him in their summer enrichment and tutoring programs. The proof is in the pudding, his pre and post test results showed a 1 year and 4 month improvement in just three months. He is now a well adjusted first grader who looks forward to going to school each day. In addition, my son's self esteem and confidence has improved tremendously. I attribute the improvement to the small class ratios and the loving environment created by the teachers who provide constant encouragement and positive reinforcement.

I agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion which is why I will share mine. This school has been undergoing a transition to new management and the change is for the worst. Currently their ISACS accreditation is being revoked. Four of ten teachers quit this past year and after hearing how much they were paid, I don't blame them. I was appalled at how unorganized the office became during this past year. I had to prove that I had already paid tuition because they lost my payment. Prepaid field trips frequently canceled because the office forgot to schedule. There were days that my son didn't have a sub because no one called for one. I don't agree with the way my son was taught either. When I asked my son what he did during the day he would reply, 'we did worksheets all day.' There are better schools out there!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
