While I appreciate that they try to keep my son involved and engaged, since he is an advanced learner, I do find them to be a bit disorganized. Don't order book fair books online, even though the option is offered. You'll never see the books, and when you eventually do, months later, they've clearly been passed around the classrooms. No music program, either. I'm a musician, so this is extremely disheartening, as I feel it is so important! You buy a TON of supplies, and yet your child does not get to keep ANY of them; they are all communal supplies, so when something needs completed at home, you have to go buy more.
I find it weird that the school is housed in a remodeled grocery store. There are no windows, no gated playground, just some seedy little playground set they have to walk a ways to get to. The parking lot is shared by several other businesses and is constantly covered in garbage. It's clear that it hasn't been cleaned or repaired in a very long time. Overall, while the teachers themselves are lovely and the principal does her best, we are not impressed and or son will be attending South-Western schools next year.
