Ridgeview MS is the worst school I have ever delt with. They LOST my child one day and then shoved it under the rug. They played with a 13 yr old boys head. The teacher took a person vendetta against my son. I wouldnt send your child to this school, not if you care about their safety.
This school doesn't really permit many things at all, the principal isn't very fair. There is a lot of room for improvement to be made. The curriculum is falling behind, and in many classes, the education doesn't challenge many students.
ridgeview is a great school i really like how there are true friends there.the teachers and the principle are doing a outstanding job keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!
The vice principle is annoying but every thing else is okay. P.S. Mrs. Wilkinson is the best teacher ever!
I've attended Ridgeview Middle School for three years and recently graduated feeling fully prepared for high school. The teachers, I feel, are probably the best part of this school, because they trully have knowledge of the subject that they are teaching. Most of them have taught here for a long time. Also, this school offers lots of advanced classes that are eligible for high school credit. In addition to that, there's tons of athletic and academic activities, like Debate Team, Orchestra, and Ski Club. However, I also feel that the environment is not as good as it should be. Nevertheless, I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a school filled with lots of opportunities.
This school is not as good as i thought it would be. My daughter has been going to this school for two years and dose not like it. My daughter say the teachers dont actually listen to the sudents and dont care about them.
This school provides a top notch education and has excellent opportunities for gifted students as well as collaborations with community institutions such as Riverside Hospital.
My daughter is a new student and we we fortunate enough to have her in through the lottery. I am very pleased that they hold the student responsible for homework! They also have online access to grades and homework 24 hours a day. I am VERY pleased with the new principal and that the teachers LOVE thier students. My child is very close to honor role and that was far from what was happening at her last school! Thank you Ridgeview teachers and staff!
Ridgeview is a wonderful school in a so-so district. Many people overlook it when it comes time to go from elementary to middle school. It's a shame. My daughter went here for 3 years and is now a fresman at Centennial. Her brother is just now in 6th grade. Instruction at the 6th grade level is exemplary. Outside of cuts made because of things out of their control, the only negative would be that some of the 8th grade teachers are not up to what I would consider par for that school. They've gone from an incredible principal t one who looks like she will be just as good. Do not pass up this middle school!
I hate some of the rules now that we got a new VP. But it's still a good school. Ms. Rosko is the best!
My son has attended Ridgeview for the past three years and we have been pleased with our experience. There are sports available, where teamwork is stressed. There are clubs/organizations where growth is fostered. Parents are encouraged to participate in their children's education and to top it off learning is taking place! What more could you ask for? Great staff! Safe! Fun! Academically excellent!
I think the great school rating of 5 is underestimated for Ridgeview. My daughter is in her last year there and has loved her time at this school. My only complaint would be a few teachers are not as great as I had hoped and I don't think they give enough credit to the eighth grade students in their ability to be school leaders. I was glad to see a student council instituted a few years back, however, I think they could allow the students a little more say in their educational endeavors.
Ridgview is a great school! The teachers that my daughter has had do far as great and care a lot about the students. The teachers encourage students and make learning fun!
Ridgeview is an excellent school with great teachers. Also, parental involvement is strong. My daughter went to Ridgeview, and now she attends Columbus Academy. The 8th grade team did an outstanding job preparing her for high school.
I would like to add a couple of comments about Ridgeview.I did lots of research, read website, spoke to numerous people. All stated that if I had to stick her in Columbus Public that the best was Ridgeview. I have come to agree. This is my daughters last year at Ridgeview, and I think I will be just as sad as she will be. I have found the teaching staff to be genuinely concerned for my daughters education and her growth. Over all I have found this to be an excellent choice for her and myself. I rest everyday knowing that guns and violence is not an issue and she is receiving the finest education in Columbus. We were sad to see the Drama program cut, and only hope that they will bring that back. However outside of that Ridgeview Middle School is a great place for students and parents.
Great teachers and students. Diverse student body. Music, art, sports, and extracurricular activities available. High level of parental and student involvement. Overall great school.
My son is a gifted/talented child who has been at Ridgeview for three years. The teachers at Ridgeview are exemplary. They communicate assignments and items of interest to parents through their weekly 'Homeward Bound' newsletter. The boys soccer team is league champion, and I think the girls volleyball is as well. The AP classes are challenging and the choir/art teachers are good as well. This year the drama dept was cut, and that is a shame. My favorite thing about the school is the ethnic diversity. I am glad that my son is exposed to all shades and nationalities of children. The combination of high academic standards in an urban school setting has given my son a wonderful middle school experience.
