I've been teaching sixth grade at Starling for about 10 years and no matter what other opportunities arise, I can't bring myself to leave. The sixth grade team works together to make sure we meet the students at their level and bring out their personal best. We love to have fun with the students and make learning at Starling an exciting time. Although I have always felt very safe and secure at Starling, very recently we have been able to get a STRONG hold on bullying. It is not tollerated and students who choose to bully are dealt with swiftly. As teachers we meet twice each week to discuss our academic/emotional goals for the students and discuss new learning techniques. We have a plethora of technology that is used on a daily basis. If you live in Franklinton, you should feel proud to send your child to begin their Middle School years!

Starling Middle School is a joke! If you truley care about your child and the education they will recieve at school, this isn't the place to send them. My son attended half of the school year here, out of all his teachers 2 of them conducted and acted like teachers. Thank you Mrs. Cornell, i found myself walking into paents teacher confrences wondering, how did this person get a teaching degree? No wonder my son feels like he isn't learning anything. And with a 3.48 he is nobodys fool. It is so disapointing to see how much our schools have lowered the standards of teaching.

I went to Starling and now that I have a middle schooled aged child I think Starling is a great place for her to be. The teachers there are great and they help the children explore the options of having a better education. I could not ask for a better school to send my daughter to.
