A model school that all public schools should emulate. Dedicated and skilled professionals supported by the community and PTA. Where can you find a wetlands and greenhouse in a public primary school. Add the library, art room, computer room and music room and you surpass what any private school can offer.

I think the naturealm is a great assest to the school and learning activities for the children. The teachers are very supportive and involved in the learning of each child.

I have never seen such a happier bunch of children in all other schools. It must be the principal, who walks the halls and inter-acts with the teachers and children so well.

Arrowhead is a great school. Our teachers and staff are top notch and our students have so much pride in our school. Our Nature Zone is phenomenal and such a great learning environment for the students. Our parent volunteers are amazing. The After School Programs offer a lot of great opportunities for students to try something new. Some of our offerings include Taekwondo, Violin, Spanish, Knitting, Scrapbooking, Studio Art, Science Club, Dance, Golf, and Zoo Mobile, with more in the works. My children and I are proud to be a part of Arrowhead Elementary.

Arrowhead has wonderful teachers, parents, students and administrators. But the one thing that makes Arrowhead stand out is the amazing Greenhouse and Nature Zone area which is run and cared for by the students, parents and teachers. In the Greenhouse, the students learn about plants, the earth and how to care for it. The Nature Zone area is 3 acres that houses several themed garden such as a pizza garden, a flag garden and a japanese garden and a pond, wetlands, a pavilion, a newly added chicken coup and vegetable gardens. Each classroom has their own vegetable garden where they learn to grow their own crops. It's a wonderful place for the students to learn about the land and earth sciences and to get fresh air while doing so. This whole program and area wouldn't be possible without the parents, teachers, students and administrators working together which demonstrates the sense of community that exists within Arrowhead

About the tests

In 2010-2011, the Ohio Department of Education used the Value-Added Measure to show how much growth students made on the Ohio Achievement Test since the last school year. The state expects that student test scores will show an average year's worth of growth compared to test scores from the previous year. Ohio's Value-Added Measure is not the same as Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), a federal measure which uses different criteria.

About the tests

Ohio uses the Performance Index to provide an overall indication of how well students perform on its standardized tests each year. The Performance Index scores are based upon how well each student does on all tested subjects in grades 3 through 8 and 10. Schools and districts earn anywhere from 1.2 points for each student scoring at the advanced level to zero points for each untested student. The Performance Index ranges between 0 and 120, with 100 as the statewide goal for all students.
