After trying three schools in as many years, we were so thrilled to finally find the total package. Small class sizes, strong school community, excellent teachers and leadership. Everyone is so nice, involved and welcoming. My son was so excited to start school for another year.

Both of my children are currently enrolled at Redeemer. My kids have completely different personalities and talents. I feel the teachers love the kids and genuinely want them to succeed. For a small school there are plenty of activities without a bunch of annoying fundraising. The principal is in touch with the kids and parents. The best part of being a part of this school is the family atmosphere.

Redeemer is a wonderful school. My child has been attending since Kindergarten and has declared this year to be the best ever. And given that she was really worried about this year due to some things she had heard about the teacher I couldn't be more thrilled. The children really seem to flourish and I find the teaching staff to be wonderful. And the ability we have to communicate with the teachers and staff is great. If you have a concern you can call the teacher at school or at home and discuss it with them. They want the kids to succeed. And in the end isn't that what we all want?

As a parent, I can in good conscience recommend this school. We have two children who have attended Redeemer, one who has gone on to high school, the other is still attending. My oldest child is attending a local public high school and was very prepared for Algebra, Honors History and Honors English class. The teachers are dedicated, and with a smaller class size, can give individual attention, if needed, to the students. Both children have been successful in this school environment and have had plenty of activities to choose from. Redeemer will be blessed with a beautiful full-sized gym which should be completed by December of 2008.. We initially sent our children to Redeemer because of the Christian environment they would be in, and the religious education they would be receiving. We were pleased that the core education our children have received has also been very strong. The faculty, principal, and families who have children attending have been wonderful to work with, and to get to know. A private school has it's limitations, but the strengths at this school far exceed the weaknesses.

I LOVE RCS!!! It was amazing, no matter what the negative revews about this school say. The teachers can have fun and still be strict, especially about uiforms *cough*. Me and my friends and classmates did great at Redeemer as long as we tried. Even though the school isnt exactly uptodate, the new gym will make that better and MrGrulke is doing a good job as a principle with that (especially AR). The small classes are almost a blessing. Everyone knows everyone, it is a huge family, every grade and teacher, and I'm sad i had to leave it for high school! :( If you didn't see at the last dance, all of the 8th graders, every year, cry their eyes out becuase they don't want to leave the school. RCS is a great, educational, Christian envoirment!! It taught me about God and life and thats very important!! :D ~Sarah

I am a parent of a current student, and I just want to say this school is a wonderful environment for student who want a small school, with a conventional education, but my child likes things always going on, and big things, but as hard as it was for us to adjust to this small school it was worth it because of the wonderful friends my child has made, but i wish they had things a little bigger, like at least 30-40 children in a grade, and a daily hot lunch program, and even a football team but over all this school is ok

I love Redeemer. Everyone cares so much, and they gave me time to adjust when I started in the middle of the year.

I have had four children attend Redeemer in the last 6 years. I believe Redeemer is one of the best kept secrets in the area. They offer academic classes that will rival any local school public or private. The graduating students are well prepared for academic classes in high school. They offer a well rounded curriculum and help those that need it. The teachers are excellent and the school is accredited by the State. Parents are encouraged to participate and many are very involved with the school. They are building a new full size gym and continue to be competitive in basketball and volleyball. They offer programs other schools are cutting or reducing (art, Spanish, band, chorus, general music cheerleading, track). I challenge anyone looking for a solid, cutting edge academic program to go and visit. Take and look and decide for yourself.

We are currently 8th grade students at Redeemer Christian School and think it is pretty nice. While the gym is small they are working to build a new one and are involving the students.Mr.Grulke and Mr. Jones are the best teachers. We think that Redeemer will prepare us very well for high school. -James, and Zach, 8th Grade

My daughter attended Redeemer from Pre-K through 8th grade - she excelled in math at Redeemer along with all the other subjects. She went on to attend private high school and carries a 4.0. Redeemer gave her the base she needed, not only academically but spiritually. My son currently attends Redeemer and is on the same upward path towards growing in Christ and becoming a star student. I believe that children need a strong force behind them and with the commitment of the parents and the quality education Redeemer can offer - you can't go wrong. I would highly recommend Redeemer. School years 2000-2004 I had experienced my children actually declining in acedemic levels compared to their friends attending local public schools. I removed the children and placed them in public school system for future years. The school administraton and board of directors were equally a disappointment when approaching them with issues of concern. The quality of education was below standard for what I consider a premium tuition cost. Not to say the school does not have some good teaching staff, but rather lacks enough quality teaching staff. Many of the better staff have left or been relieved of their jobs in the last two years due to lack of funding. Facilities are small and very dated. I am more comfortable with my children attending an educational system which has to answer to a state school board. My overall rating is unsatisfactory.

As a parent who has had three children attend Redeemer since Pre-K, I am very pleased with the education they have received. Two of my children have gone on to high school and have excelled without difficulty because Redeemer gave them an excellent academic background. They both have been at the top of their math classes which have included both Honors and AP placements. The students at Redeemer are expected to work and take their studies seriously. The teachers have always been very willing to help and to listen. All three of my children have played sports and they have had nothing but positive experiences. Redeemer has excellent, dedicated teachers and I feel very comfortable giving it a very high recommendation. Lisa

As a parent, I can not in good conscience recommend the school right now. While there's been quite a bit of positive change recently, there's still a long way to go. I am optimistic that Mr.Gruhlke will rise to the challenge as principal. Meanwhile 1st & 2nd teachers are still pushing ADHD diagnosis on boys. In the upper grades, GPA for relevant classes is skewed by electives and children aren't expected to write in cursive. The school is under funded. The facilities are not up to date. Hot lunches are expensive and unhealthy. Several 'good' students who went from Redeemer to public schools were in Title I for Math after the 'Everyday Math' program failed to reinforce the basics. Every day application of religious coursework appears missing from this Christian school. I expected more for my money and my time. I continue to be disappointed on many levels.

As a teacher, I would love to sit down with Anne and discuss her concerns. I think there are better ways to 'speak the truth in love.' Redeemer is a great Christian school that provides a quality education to all its students Mr. Grulke

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
