My son has only been enrolled in HA preschool for a few months and already I’m ecstatic that we made the decision to move him there. He previously attended another Catholic PS in our area but I’d heard amazing things about HAS and knew that we wanted him to go there for kindergarten so when the opportunity to switch him over to HA presented itself we jumped on it even though we LOVED his PS and would have been perfectly fine with him continuing to blossom there for another year. The Pre-k/4-year old teacher, Mrs. Reynolds, is a TRUE GEM! It warms my heart to know that teachers like her still exist. She has an undeniable love for the children and for the learning process. My son told me “Mom, this isn’t really a learning school, it’s more of a playing school” because they’re just that amazing at making learning fun! He’s learning Spanish and Sign Language (he can sign about 20 words beautifully and has only been in school for 2 months!) They take education to the next level by integrating various types of learning into one activity. So a game about the 5 senses turns into a math assignment and a writing assignment as they count and add how many things were salty/sweet/bitter/etc and annotate on their “score cards” which flavors they liked and the ones they didn’t (a clever way to incorporate letter recognition and practice penmanship). What I absolutely LOVE the most is that every Friday night between 7-8pm I have received an email from Mrs. Reynolds detailing the activities that the class participated in each day of that week. The weekly newsletter includes “action shots” of the kids completing various tasks. It warms my heart to get a sneak peek of his day-to-day. She always closes out the letter with what they did in the area of prayer and praise. Not only are they excelling academically but they are learning to become good citizens of the world. If you’re considering HA you won’t be disappointed!

My child is only in her first year at Holy Angels. But I have felt from the start that her teacher works very hard to provide the best for my child. It did take me a few weeks to get used to some confusing areas of the student handbook, it was embarrassing to have to ask for clarification several times ad nauseum about ambiguous statements. It made me feel somewhat belittled because it sorta made me feel like the answers I wanted were in the "secret handbook"---aka the club of parents who were already seasoned and knew the answers through past experience. Having got past that I am happy with the experience my child is getting, and I believe it to be far superior to the experience she would be getting today in the public school system I grew up in.

Small school with big opportunities. The students benefit from its location adjacent to the University of Dayton. Caring teachers and administrators, as well as involved parents, lead the students to become respectful, initiative-taking, educated members of the world community.

Holy Angels is a wonderful school with a fairly diverse student body. The school fosters a supportive, nurturing environment with a challenging curriculum. Students are encouraged to do well in all areas of their lives, including giving to others through community service and mentoring. We have been very pleased with the school, and look forward to sending our youngest child there as he enters Kindergarten.
