My son attended this school for almost 2 years and had a great experience there. His teachers were WONDERFUL!!! They have given him homework/ assingments that challenge him, and have communicated well with me. The school has a small student body- my son only had 16 kids in his class! The principal seems to know the students, and the staff was all helpful and friendly. The PTO had many fun activities throughout the year for the whole family, which we enjoyed. The music program was excellent. I am sad that my other kids won't be able to attend Beverly Gardens, since we had to move. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone!
My daughter has attended this school for the last four years and we have had an excellent experience. Her teachers have been helpful and kind and always willing to communicate with me. The music program offers choir for 3rd and 4th graders and I have watched my daughter bloom with self confidence. The PTA is great and there is always something going on that the family can get involved in from a sock hop to math fun night in the cafetorium. The school is secure and entry is only available during school hours from the office so that everyone who enters is screened. They have an excellent behavior policy that incorporates consequences via a color card system and rewards that the children qualify for if they have earned enough behavior tickets. We will be moving this year and I am really going to miss our school.
We came into this school not knowing what to expect...we were pleasantly suprised. My advice is to talk to the teachers and staff-volunteer for the your child's teacher if you can and really have open communication with the teachers and staff. We will be sad to say goodbye to this school.
My children have attended BGE for 4 years now. They have a wonderful staff that truly care about the children. The Teachers in all grades (K-4) are amazing!! The school building itself is only around 5 years old and is very nice. This is a walking school so there are no buses, other than the one for the students with special needs. The school is in an area I feel safe in and it actually borders the military housing subdivision. I would encourage parents to get involved in the school by volunteering. It's a great way to get to know the staff and see how the school runs. They seem to average around 20-22 students per class. I would highly recommend BGE to anyone moving into the area.
My children attended this school since the first and second grade. While I'm extremely happy about the location I was very unhappy about the encouragement the school provided reference an open door policy to see how your child is acting and participating in the classroom. For the most part Beverly Gardens Elementary host excellent teachers however, the administrative staff is not people oriented. On many occasions I found the school to be more concerned about school fees than sharing the progression of education with the parents and communication was very strained.
My son has been attending BGE since 1st grade and is getting ready to begin 4th. He has done extremely well and I believe the teachers deserve the credit. I strongly support the school's policy on behavior; I believe they are strict but fair. The school's agenda books are also great. I like that I can communicate with the teachers when I need to and I love that I can get a glimpse into my son's day. While there are not many extracurricular activities to choose from, I don't hold it against the school. With shrinking budgets and growing class sizes I believe the school is doing the best with what they've been given and I am extremely grateful. My younger son is getting ready to start kindergarten and I am sure he'll do well, just like his brother.
Moved here in July it's supposed to be the number five school in the state which it has proven itself to me. My daughters teacher is great and makes sure everyone gets where they need to be and is strict yet understanding and does not push too hard. The administrative staff is awesome and though we are rarely there for anything other then to pick our daughter up they know exactly who we are and who our child is which to me shows they take time to care. They are also military family friendly which means a lot to us and the school is right across our street which is also a plus!
I have been pleased with this school. The full day kindergarten program is great and they put major focus on reading. However, my oldest child was already reading when she started school and I don't think she got enough one on one time with the teacher. Lunch time is definitely not long enough at this school, especially if your child will be buying. They dismiss the kids by class, so if your child is a slow eater they don't get enough time to finish. Also too much emphasis is put on perfect attendance, my daughter hates to stay home when she is sick because she won't get the reward at the end of the quarter. A plus for the school is it is basically on lock down during school hours, only one entrance is open. But this also means you can't walk your child to class in the morning.
My son and daughter go to school here. While I think this school is excellent if your child is a normal student---I think their special education department is lacking (especially dealing with autism).
I am very please with BGE and the education that my son is getting there. I feel that I get listened to by the teachers and that we all work together to ensure my son's academic success.
