My daughters are in their first year at Pathway, having just transferred in from a local public school district. For the first time they are working hard on their homework and classwork. Schoolwork has always been too easy for them in the past, and now they are challenged. They come home happy and say great things about their teachers. Even more, they feel like they are contributing to their community. Just yesterday, the entire school participated in a walk for youth diabetes. We wish we'd gotten our girls into this school sooner.
I completely adore this school! My daughter just started this year. Kindergarten and she loves it. I love her teacher and the whole school system. I am sending my other daughter there in a few years and am excited. My oldest has learned addition, subtraction, and she can read a lot of books. I am very impressed and am so glad that school has teachers like hers. VERY HAPPY!!!
If I can reach 1 parent who listen, then this review will be worth it! Sadly this school yr has proved to be the WORST so far. Academic help is a minimum, and they use students for tutoring instead of licensed teachers. In addition, my daughter has been the subject of severe bullying, without help to prevent the issue! The teachers dont care about providing a safe environment for kids to learn. Its not a good school and am shocked to find this out from other parents who have withdrawn their own children for similiar situations. DO NOT PUT YOUR KIDS IN THIS SCHOOL, a parent shouldn't have to worry about their kids when they go to school, not come home crying b/c they've been physically attacked by other students. Pathway needs to uphold the same moral code they hold their students to signing at the beginning of the year! Pathway School of Discovery clearly shows no remorse or care to follow their own policy!
I am very impressed with Pathways, I have two granddaughters who attend and the academics are way above the Dayton Public Schools. I just attended grandparents day and was so amazed at how well all the students were when they were all assembled in the gym. To calm the students all the principle had to do was count down to 5 (silence). The principle is wonderful with the students and very involved, even directing traffic after the event. The teachers seem so motivated and truly interested in the children. I Love Pathways....a life saver for my granddaughters....
My Grandson has gone hear since first grade, now in sixth, Getting a very good start.Whole family is very happy with the whole system.
I absolutely disagree with the parent that said that Pathway is only beneficial for a 'cookie cutter' child!!! I know for a fact that the teachers at this school work tirelessly to cater to ALL children at all ability levels. My daughter has grown tremendously in the two and a half years she's been there. She started Kindergarten in the 3rd percentile in Reading and ended it in the 99th percentile!! She's now in second grade and reading at almost a fourth grade level. Any parent that can't see how much Pathway teachers and principal care for the students is blind!
This school would only be beneficial for a cookie cutter child. The principal and teachers have no interest, knowledge, care, support or concern for children that do not fit the typical child mold. If a child is gifted, learning disabled, or anything out of what they consider to be typical they do not have the skill or ability to provide the necessary learning environment that is conducive to a successfull educational career for the child. Parents of special needs, gifted, or learning disabled children should run and run fast from this school without looking back.
Pathway School of Discovery is a School of Excellence! They have the best teachers!!!!
I have love our experince at Pathways. I have a daughter who is Kindergarten. She loves it and so do we. They have a great curriculum along with great specials ( music, gym, art and library). She even know music notes.
I too would agree with the parent that stated our principal is Exceptional. He is consistent, helpful, easy to speak with and most of all concerned with our children's education and safety. Anyone who would say different is WRONG! This school is concerned with our children's education, safety and future. I could not ask for more than what is being given, except that NHA would offer a High School. I have recommended Pathway to several friends and will continue to do so. This is an exceptional school with an extraordinary administration! Go Pathway!
