the director of displine are very rude & disrepectful period. I would NOT recommend your child to attend this school if he or she has been diagnosed with special needs. The staff is not trained to deal with children w/ IEP's. ALL they want to do is suspend, suspend and suspend. If your child is envolved in a situation with another student the child with the IEP is always to blamed. There is a law into effect no child left behind. maybe it just don't apply to this school.
I have 2 children at Emerson. This is my oldest child's fifth year there. We are absolutely, completely happy with everything about the school! The teachers are wonderful, as well as the rest of the staff. My kids get amazing grades and were both reading by the end of the kindergarten. I recommend this school to everyone I know.
Why do you love Emerson Academy of Dayton Elementary? Throughout the school year I have become a part of my child's classroom. Teachers implement challenging academics that pepares children to become mature young adults. They advocate a moral cirriculum and support each child's educational needs. Teachers, faculty and students have a much to be proud of and I'm honored to be a parent of an Emerson Academy Student.
Emerson Academy is a wonderful learning environment. The principal, teachers and staff are dedicated and friendly. This school really cares about the students and their families beyond just academics. They encourage parent envolvement in the classroom as well as school activities. Emerson has brought a caliber of academic excellence and community outreach to the city of Dayton.
My girls have always been bored by school or just didn't like going. Since, I have enrolled them there they absolutely love it there. This school is great the staff and the teachers are very friendly and are willing to help your child get ahead in academics and in life. My daughters teachers are wonderful and caring I couldn't find a better school any where else I highly reccommend Emerson.
Because my grandkid's have learned alot at this school. And the teacher's really care alot about there student's. They put the learning of there studen's at the highest priorty. And the teacher's will & do go above & beyond what they have to. To make sure there student's understand what they are telling them.
My 8 year old has attended here for 4 years and loves it. Her teachers have all been very helpful. She is reading and doing math above grade level and her teachers give her work to challenge her abilities. If you are looking for sports extra curr., go elsewhere, this school emphasizes academics and the arts. I've recommended this school to several freinds.
My child has been going to Emerson for 2year and I think that it's an excellent school. The principal and assistant principal and their whole staff are so great. If I felt that there was anything wrong with this school or staff I would have never sent my child to this school and for the parents of the children that have problem's with the teacher and staff maybe its your child that is causing the problem's not saying that, that is going on but us parents will never know unless we are there to make sure that these thing are not going on. No parent wants to beleive that there child is having problems at school or with the staff . Me my self rate the whole school and staff a 5star.
Do not send your kids there. There is a lack of extracurricular activities and some teachers do not want to be there for the student not for the parent. I do not want to rate every teacher as bad because there are a few who really enjoy teaching and try to give you feeback rearding your child.
There is not structure in the school. My children came home complaining all the time about the teachers not helping or listening to them. There are no after school programs for them, and worst of all I never got to meet that actual principal! It was always the assistant principal, and plans never fell through!
