I am a senior at PCC. Patterson is a great school, and believe it or not the Dayton Public School district is a good place to get an education. Patterson has perpared me for the workforce while giving me a solid education. I am in the tech-prep program which allowed me to take college courses starting my sophomore year. I am currently certified in sports and enterainment marketing, and I am also a radio personal and sports commentator for DPS. Yes, we have a new principal and counselor and they do an excellent job for us students. 'Your education is what YOU make of it'... so if your child isn't getting a good education at Patterson, something is wrong. Everyone in our class has the ability to go to college and we {{{ALL}}} have scholarships. Ive been to other schools and I can't compare then to PATTERSON CAREER CENTER!

I must agree with the parent below. This school is on the decline. I thought the new principal would make some positive changes unfortunately it has not panned out that way. In my opinion, the counselor seems to be oblivious and does not motivate the students. So, for my childs final year in HS, I moved out of the district all together, now there is has a fighting chance to make it in college but there is lot's of ground to make up due to the lack of education/preparation from DPS.

This school seems to be on the decline. The students are getting more out of control and the quality of education has seem to go down this year. I was impressed a few years ago but now I am looking for an alternative for my last year of school. Sad but true....

Patterson Career Center is a great school! Don't be fooled by the name because it excellently prepares students for college as well. My son participated in the Engineering Technology program and already has a full scholarship for college. He is taking college prep courses along with his Tech Prep classes. He has also received two Superintendents Scholar Award which is awarded to students who receive straight 'A's for a least a quarter during the school year. If you didn't already know about it then it has been one of Dayton Public Schools best kept secrets.

I was a student. Best school in the city of Dayton. The teachers really do care. And it shows through the attention they give during classes.

I graduated from Patterson, and I can say I am so glad I attended. At first I didn't know anything about Patterson. But once I started my first day there, I knew this was the place for me. While other students are working at McDonalds or Kroger, I got a job at a nursing home through the allied health division. Patterson gave me such a secure start for being right out of high school. Unfortunately we had no sports, but we had the option to play for another Dayton school. The parent involvement is probably typical, as it is a high school, and students are more independent. The teachers there have real work experience in their field and that is a real advantage.

Wonderful skill trades school. Principal and most teachers care for the students. Could impliment more extra curricular activities and bring back job opportunities for the students.
