Donnelsville was, as my child told me, " The best school in the entire world." We both agreed that it was a shame the levy failed. My daughter cried for a long time about it. She loved that school with all her heart, and I can't imagine how hard it was for her to say goodbye to the school she had been with for 4 years. We weren't able to go to New Carlisle, so she also had to say goodbye to her friends and teachers too.
We're still angry at the superintendant for dismantling one of the best elementary schools in the area. My wife and I are teachers in other districts and still don't understand the logic of this stunt. Our 2 children and hundreds of others have suffered greatly because of the 'restructuring' of Tecumseh Schools. Other peripheral programs should have been cut before this move. This is a SCHOOL district not a SPORTS district. Where are your priorites Tecumseh School Board? Good luck to the remaining excellent Donnelsville teachers and principal. You'll have to make do without the support of top administration officials who have folded to Tea Party advocates!
Three of my children attended Donnelsville Elementary in the old building and now my granddaughter attends in the new building. The principal, staff and teachers are wonderful. They always have been. Mrs Suver and Mrs Young were superb principals and Mrs. Strader is performing wonderfully, too. Mrs. Fairchild is an incredible administrator and always eager to help in any way. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a quality education for their child, while maintaining the small community school atmosphere. The only complaint I've ever heard about the staff came when my son entered middle school. His teacher said Donnelsville caters too much to the needs of the children and babies them along, spending too much time on individuals, rather than the class as a whole. That's exactly what I want for my graddaughter. A school system that cares about the students and a system that consistently prdouces outstanding results.
I currently have one child in this school and one who attended all 5 years. I proud of the education my children receive.
I have one child attending Donnelsville and another who has moved on from Donneslville to Tecumseh Middle School. I feel elementary school lays the foundation for a child's ability to learn and thrive in the educational system and, with that in mind, I can't say enough great things about Donnelsville. The staff are committed to helping each child learn and become the best student possible. Donnelsville provides children with a great educational foundation!
I have had two children attend Donnelsville Elementay . Both of my children enjoyed attending. The teachers are very caring and concerned about each student. If I had a concern about my child the teachers were available to discuss things with me. Parent involvement is welcomed and appreciated. Donnelsville Elementary will be moving from the old building to a brand new one built right behind the current one. Students will attend the fall of 2006.The Special classes are music,art,P.E.,and library. Students attend one of these daily. The class ratios are low and this helps provide more one on one learning. There are also intervention specialist and Gifted learning opportunities. Parents will also enjoy the 'Parent Center'.It is a lending library of games and tools to aid learning and parenting. Wonderful support. A place to plug in.
This is an excellent school. The staff here really goes out of their way to help all students have the best educational experience they can provide. As the mother of three special needs children, I have to say I never felt as though I was forgotten or left behind. Teachers actively helped me to find the most resources and best help available. I would not hesitate to recommend this school to another parent. There is a high level of parent involvement and a wonderful sense of community. There is a strong feeling of family here. In 2006, the school body will be moving into an all new building, which promises to be very exciting. There are many extracurricular activities in the surrounding community, some of which take place at the school, but none are school sponsored.
