This school is bitter sweet. For one thing when i went to this school we had so many opportunities that most high schools don't. We got to do a variety of hands on things, plus we are in the science center!. The bitter part of it is the lack of control, there is only ONE grade and the school is filled with bullies and out of controlled kids! there recently was a fight where my classmate got beaten up then the next day in the same area another girl in my school got jumped by 4 or 5 girls. This school claims "no tolerance" but they should claim "favoritism" because that's all it is, your child may get kicked out or suspended where is another child might not, it's ridiculous. The guidance counselor doesn't know how to use her power and has no control, the teachers are fairly rude, and with this being a school about "engineering" the engineering teacher only pays attention to the star students, he would literally leave us in the classroom alone. All i can say is don't think just because it's may be a little harder to get in this school than others, or the president giving it a shoutout (only because NASA sponsors) that its a good school. Besides the opportunities everything else is BAD

The school has a great atmosphere with different, unique locations around Cleveland. It provides project based learning and PSEOP (which means taking college classes while still in high school). The teachers however, are not the best. In my 9th grade year, we had an an average of around 3 substitutes per class. We switched teachers so much that it began to be a hard (non-enjoyable) learning experience. Once i got into the 10th grade, I began college classes and got away from the constant switching of teachers. Ever since then, I have loved the school. The only other downside to the school is that many of the students are very unprofessional and VERY low-class. If the school found better students, the experience would be almost perfect.

This a really good school for all types of students we are a project based learning school, so we are more focused on the education part of high school rather than sports and other extra curricular activities.

In reference to the parent who said this school is fake. I have a graduate from the Design Lab portion of the program who did very well. I have a student in the MC2stem portion who is doing well with a 4.0 average. Every student does not fit with this program as with many other things in life you may not fit. Do not blame the school because the program was not right for your child.

Clearly, the "parent" who suggested of mc2 STEM: " There fake there grades" has no knowledge of the school whatsoever. To the contrary; mc2 STEM has some of the best OGT (Ohio Graduation Test) scores and one of the highest attendance rates not only in CMSD, but in the NE Ohio area. Regarding the claim that (and I think that this is what he/she *meant* to say - of mc2 faculty/administrators), "They fake their grades", the OGT scores offer a strong causal correlation between actual student grades and passing rates. In other words: you can't inflate OGT test results...and when *they* reflect what the report cards are saying, you can conclude with a good degree of confidence that the grades are hardly "faked". Further, given that this school has an open enrollment (any student can 'put their name into the hat') policy with a lottery - based selection process, the results seen from 3 years of performance suggest that there is indeed something *VERY* different about mc2 STEM. Still, a myriad of individuals / groups (these "haters") are envious of mc2 and stand to lose if the mc2 model proves successful. So, for "FACTS", research real / unbiased public data and judge for yourself!
