I think that Northmoor is a great school. The teachers are outstanding as well as the staff. The school itself is like a community within a community. There mission is to meet the educational needs of each child. According to performance ratings, they have sucessfully met there goal. Northmoor elementary should be used as a model school to assist other elementary schools that are struggling to excel academically and create a strong culture. I give Northmoor a top rating of five stars.

Referring to previous post. I don t think it should matter as to what color the teachers are as to what education the children are receiving. My children have attended Northmoor for the past 3 years and I don t think the quality of education is good. I think allowing children to use calculators on test is ridiculous, and for a teacher to tell me they need to know how to use it to pass a test is even more ridiculous. My experience as a family that has moved around and attended many schools show that this school offers poor teaching to make sure kids pass a test and the school gets more funding. I don t feel it looks out for the best interest of the kids.

Love this school! I am an African-American parent who has had two children who began attending Northmoor in the Kindergarten. One child is now in high school, and the second presently attends Northmoor. IWe have been thoroughly pleased with this school. It would be nice if there was more diversity amongst the teachers, but we're am most concerned with the quality of teachers and how well they teach the curriculum. The principals and teachers have all created a positive environment in which my children could learn. We love the extracurricular activities the school has to offer also.

I would like to ditto the parent who made the comments regarding Northmoor Elementary's lack of respect or a lack of for or a lack of understanding minority students. Although the parent's comment was written two years ago, there is still only one black teacher on staff. More needs to be done with respect to recruiting minority faculty. The African American students at the school have no role models to identify with and the teachers on hand don't fully understand the black students they teach. This creates the kind of problems white America cannot see. As far as academics, the school is on target, but the social development and emotional nurturing of the black children at Northmoor is lacking. This is far more evident in some classrooms than others. The school would benefit more by diversifying its staff.

My son is in 1st grade, so I've only had 2 yrs. exp w/ this school. I have been very impressed w/ the teacher's willingness to help my son learn.

I think that Northmoor is the best school and people of all races are treated the same. The teachers are of the highest quality and so are all the staff. They have made the elementary time fun and educational for me. I could not have asked for a better school. Evan Though I do not attend there any more I still wish that i could have not left to go to the middle school last yea. I think all kids that still go there are the luckyest kids in the whole world.
