This is a wonderful school of which I am so thankful to be a part of. My son was reading Roald Dahl and Judy Blume books after 1st grade. The A Beka phonics curriculum is outstanding! Many schools do not even teach phonics anymore! The overall curriculum includes math, science, social studies, religion, spelling, music, art, Spanish and other extra choices like choir, Sigma room and instruments. The teachers and administrators are there because they love the children. Your child will learn a lot about Bible stories and God, but I feel they have nurtured his spiritual growth not pressed certain beliefs on him. It is a small community where all of the teachers know all of the children. I feel completely at secure especially since it is a locked building. There is FREE bussing for Fairborn residents. Check it out! They have a 15:1 ratio and aftercare available!

My child has attended BLS for several years. The teachers and academics seem to be OK, but the way the school is run is sloppy and frustrating. There also seems to be a prejudice against families where both parents work, which is frustrating, because we couldn't afford for our child to attend if we didn't both work. The principal isn't very approachable if something goes wrong and the school administrator isn't on site for much of the school day. I chose not to enroll my child at the school for the 2010-2011 school year.

I couldn't disagree more with the posting from 2-19. My child has many learning challenges and they give my child the help needed to succeed and I am so thankful for that special one on one. They even have a special ed teacher who works with my child and many others daily & I think that's amazing given the small size of the school. They could have easily turned us away and said they weren't equipped to handle the level of help my child needs but they didn't. They really take very seriously their mission to help all students who come to them. I know there are other kids there whose parents sent them there because they were doing so bad in public schools and were just drowning. Bethlehem had their work cut out for them but these kids are now thriving & those parents are thankful too.

If your child is average, or struggles with some subjects, this is not the school for you. BLS seems to be moving towards an elitist attitude, and children who do not excell are viewed as a 'problem' and not welcome at this school.

We are a military family and have been all over the country. I can honestly say that Bethlehem is the best school our kids have ever attended. The academics are top notch and the one on one is superb. It outranks other private schools we have attended and the public schools can't even begin to compare. I was worried this year about combined classrooms (2 grades in one classroom) but I should have known that Bethlehem wouldn't have taken it on if they thought it wouldn't work. There has been no change in the quality of the education that my child receives.

My daughter, who is now in 4th grade, has attended Bethlehem since she was 3. She loves school and looks forward to going everyday. The classes are small, so each child gets plenty of one-on-one. She is also involved with the Sigma Room Challenge class where she participates in extra projects since she's more advanced than some of her peers. The curriculum is wonderful and is more advanced that the city schools here. All of the teachers and staff are wonderful and love the children. God has truely blessed us with the school.

My daughter attended preschool and kindergarten until we moved to another state. We were so happy with the school and teachers. We loved the small classroom size and the attention that was given. I found that everyone (from the janitor to the principal) was caring, compassionate, and wanted to be there for the children. You cannot find a friendlier or more caring atmosphere for your children to be a part of. We always felt very safe leaving our child there. The curriculum goes above and beyond the 'average'. Our child was ahead of 1st graders at a public school after finishing Kindergarten. A+++++.

This is school is very good for our young ones to grow in God. They teach every subject and even teach spanish and after school Latin. They have after school activities, such as basketball, drama, choir, and hockey, plus many more. The classes are smaller then public schools, which means our precious kids get the attention they need. They have a drees coad so no one looks better or worse. They have a wonderful loving and caring staff. Most teachers send out an informational paper for what they are learning that week and at the beginning of each month what they have to look forward to thet month. The parents can come to church and see there kids sing if they want. My kid and I would not choose to go anywhere else. We thank God for this school.
