This school is absolutely fantastic! You will not find a principal at any other school that is so devoted to the students! Mr. Burkett goes out of his way to give all the children attention and many incentives to be good. He is very active in the daily happenings with the students. Also, this school has a fantastic PTO. They do so much for this school, and have many different ways in which parents can contribute to the school, that the school pays for all student field trips, so fees. They have a lunch balance program so you can see exactly how much money your child has in their account and what they ate. They have security cameras and have instilled many safety programs to ensure students are safe. They also have an instant alert system to inform parents about any delays, cancellations, early releases, or other school emergencies.

Our son got the best education we could have asked for. We are certainly glad we purposely moved into the district so that he could attend!

We transfered our son to LB in January 05 after moving into the school district. I was very nervous about my son changing schools mid-semester. I wasnt sure how he would adjust to new kids, teachers, rules ect. From the moment that Mr Burkett took us around the school, we felt better. My son says he likes all of his teachers, but 2 in particular that stand out are Mrs. Elbin & Mrs Ebert. Its obvious that the staff at Liberty Benton care for the children. That is very refreshing in a society where some teachers dont care. The school calendar is an excellent way for parents to stay involved in the events at the school. I am very happy we made the decision to transfer him.

This is our first year at this school. We came from a very large city to here and we love it. Her teacher is great, but the office staff could stand to be a little more polite with us new parents who don't either know how things work or know how to get around the school itself.

This school is very open to having parents come and help out... Though there are some teachers who do not want this.. very few.. Overall the staff is friendly and very intrested in helping my child with things.

In 2010-2011, the Ohio Department of Education used the Value-Added Measure to show how much growth students made on the Ohio Achievement Test since the last school year. The state expects that student test scores will show an average year's worth of growth compared to test scores from the previous year. Ohio's Value-Added Measure is not the same as Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), a federal measure which uses different criteria.

About the tests


Ohio uses the Performance Index to provide an overall indication of how well students perform on its standardized tests each year. The Performance Index scores are based upon how well each student does on all tested subjects in grades 3 through 8 and 10. Schools and districts earn anywhere from 1.2 points for each student scoring at the advanced level to zero points for each untested student. The Performance Index ranges between 0 and 120, with 100 as the statewide goal for all students.
