It's an average school, with little to make it stand out academically. The kids definitely form "cliques" and this does seem to be encouraged by some of the teaching staff. We had an older child who aged out of the school quickly. It's a catholic school and while I expected a religious curriculum, there was a very big bias against the non-catholic kids in the class.

Poor leadership, Bad teachers , Money hungry, The teachers are clickey. The Teachers have no idea what they are teaching about, I would recommend any Public school in Findlay over this scahool. The teachers have there 'favorites' if your son/daughter has any problems in school do not sent them here! Also the 'favorites' parents have a huge say in the school. Unfair is another way to put it. They don't make it fun for the kids.

As a parent of two former graduates of St. Michael School in Findlay, Ohio I would like to rate the performance of the education that they received. Both boys had great experiences at St. Mike's in the classroom, with athletics and with their faith development. The teaching staff were committed catholic educators and prepared my boys very well. They moved on to a public high school where both boys excelled in the classroom, in athletics and with band, chorus and theater. The boys have turned into fine adults and college graduates. The experiences that they learned at St. Mike's have impacted their lives and souls. If they were starting over again they would choose to be at St. Mike' again!

All of our children have attended this school. It is a pleasure to say that Catholic/Christian values are a priority and the opportunities for student growth are numerous. The school offers excellent academic opportuites, music/art/phys. ed by certified teachers in those areas, sports for K-8 and service projects to help the community. Children at this school are truly prepared for high school and life beyond. They have the skills and values that are needed to succeed in the world today. This comes from a dedicated staff and support of the parish at large. We would highly recommend this option for parochial education in Hancock County.

My three children have attended St Michael School since Pre-K. My husband even attended. The staff is dedicated and knowledgeable. Parent involvement is wonderful. The education is of the highest standard and children are well prepared for high school. In fact, when I talk to parents of kids that are transferred in and out of the city, our children are advanced. This is not only in terms of academics but in attitude and concern for others. As far as athletics, there is cross country for all grades and volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, and track for older grades. Kids can begin chorus and band in 5th grade. There is student council, drug-free programs for each grade level and religious organizations and scouts available. The community offers football, soccer, etc. By Spring of 2006 there will be a new facility including classrooms, labs, library and gymnasium attached to our beautiful new church.

I attended this school for nine years (K-8) and the actual learning process is not as advanced as they say and it is. It is not nearly as fun as any of the public schools would have been in terms of school functions and activities. The athletic program has been severely hampered in the last few years by the school administration. The latest school adm. is always asking for money for one thing or another which is a big turn away for me. This would be a lot more detailed but I am limited to just 150 words.
