As a parent of 2 children that attended FHS, I must say this school is one of the worst. From drugs, gangs and bullying to being severely understaffed. Not to mention the chaotic open lunches and lack of caring and teaching skills from many faculty members, this is not somewhere you want to send your kids. From all the violence alone, it truly hinders your child's concentration and learning capabilities. We withdrew both of our children and open enrolled them elsewhere, and both showed great improvement both socially and academically. If you want a safe environment and quality education than Findlay High School is not for you.

This school has many options, but is still dedicated to the fundamentals that every student needs.

I second this statement. I am lucky to have some of the few teachers that truly care about their students education and encourage their students to use their minds to build knowledge. on another note, I believe other staff members and principles to hold on too tightly to their ability to enforce rules.

I am a former student and now the parent of a child with Asperger's syndrome attending Findlay High School. I have found that the principles and staff I have worked with to be supportive and great to work with. It is a blessing to see my child truely happy to go to school and I believe much of the credit for this goes to the staff. I also have found that communication with parents to be a priority of the administration. The priniciple sends out a daily e-mail containing all the announcements that the students heard that day. He also sends out reminders about when report cards are coming out and if a parent doesn't receive it to contact them and they will make sure you get a copy. During orientation the staff went over the emergency response plans which appear to being used as a model for other schools.

While efforts are made to help students, we feel that Findlay HS 'catogorizes' too much and principles are somewhat inflexible. There are also obvious 'clicks' that many teachers and administrators use different rules or overlook when school rules are violated. On another point, we do not believe that any Freshman should be allowed out for open lunch. Also, school uniforms would be a great way to add to school safety and reduce the arrogance of many.

I am a former student of Findlay high school. Compared to other high schools I have had experience with, Findlay offered a fair education. However, I do not feel I was adequately prepared for college or life outside of high school. Luckily there were a few fantastic teachers who nurtured my love for learning and saw talent in me that other staff chose to ignore. Some of those staff, including a few of the principals, would have hindered my educational process without the support of the other few teachers spurring me on to pursue Truth and knowledge without reservation. There are other members of the staff who did not seem worthy of the status of teacher for lack of knowledge in general, and lack of knowledge in their particular teaching field.
