I am currently a senior of this school and on my last legs of my time here and I couldn't be any more satisfied with the education I have received. There are so many classes and choices offered here that it's difficult to actually choose what to study. Being an Honors and AP student I am also glad to say that I have been offered a good round of classes that have challenged me academically and have helped me greatly. The staff here DOES care about the students and there is a program/club for any student.

My daughter goes to Fredericktown school and I can honestly say, I would not send her anywhere else. The staff is excellent! She is special needs with an IEP and has come so far since we started her at Fredericktown a year and a half ago. This is by far the best school district I have seen in Knox County (I am a graduate of Mount Vernon HS) and I plan on sending all 4 of my kids to this school.

As aproud parent of 2 FHS students I urge you NOT to listen to the negative reviews posted. We moved to the area when our children were in pre-school. We do not have 'the right last name' and my children have always been treated with respect and compassion from ALL of the Fredericktown staff. Sure, every school in the country has it's small groups whos families have lived in the area for ever and sometimes it does seem like there is a 'name-game' but unless YOU make an issue out of it, it really does not exist in this school system. I am proud to say MY KIDS GO TO FREDERICKTOWN!! And no, they are not jocks or cheerleaders or even in the 'in' crowd, they are just good kids who do well in school and who respect their classmates and their teachers!!

Fredericktown is a small close knit community that is undergoing a growth. Schools are rated among the top in the area. Please do not let the other reviews discourage you from checking us out. A new school is under construction as is fundraising for a new community center. Obviously the parents posting here are already angry and simply venting. There are many happy healthy successful kids from here. And I am a lifelong resident and I don't see evidence of gang activity.

Not only am I a parent, I am a graduate of Fredericktown schools. I have never seen such a terrible display of excuses from teachers and staff; I could write a tell-all book! If you think your child will struggle academically, then I don't recommend this school for you. If you don't have a proper name or if your son/daughter struggles, they DON'T CARE! They care only about those that will make them look good to the State and the Community. Your VOICE does NOT count. I know I have been there! After 4 years, I am in the process of getting knowledge of my rights as a parent, and we are having our son tested for ADD through an independent since the school refused my request.

This school is discusting. The maintenance of the school is horrible; leaks in the roof and poor bathroom facilities are not a concern to the staff and administration. Your last name bases how much attention you get or do not get. I would never recommend this school for anyone.
