When parents and children enter the doors of Buckeye Woods, they know that this school is the best! It is a positive, child centered school with dedicated teachers and staff! Every person is helpful, and does whatever they can to help children. Our child is very happy to be at Buckeye Woods. The teachers go above and beyond to help children learn, and the principal makes everyone feel like part of a family. What a great school!
I had wonderful experiences with Buckeye Woods Elementary School. The teachers were dedicated, challenged the students, and worked hard to make sure each kid receives a great education. My experiences with the front office were always extremely pleasant. Any time I ever needed anything, they were always more than willing to accommodate me and were always kind and professional. The kids adored the principal and would always talk about how kind she was and how she would stop in their classroom almost daily just to say hello to all the students. I recall them several times talking about her letting kids through pie in her face, climbing the rock wall, dancing, and riding bicycles at pep rallys. The PTA is incredible and is easily one of the most dedicated and involved I have ever seen. Buckeye Woods was a blessing to each of my kids and I am very grateful for the experiences and education they received there.
I volunteered in a first grade classroom this past year. I was continually impressed with how eager the students were to learn and the teachers were to teach! This class of students had a wide range of ability levels and the teachers worked together to meet and challenge all the students at their level. They worked hard to help them learn all they could learn. Also, the teachers were regularly taking classes to improve their skills. Well done Buckeye Woods!
The teachers, PTA, and students at this school are better than at other schools I have encountered, but the principal and office staff are absolutely horrible. The secretaries are extremely rude. The principal seems to have no clue how to deal with young children, and her dealings with parents are not much better. She is not suited to be a principal from what I have seen. The school seems like it has very little leadership. If I had a choice, I would avoid this school until there is a change in leadership.
First off we do love the teachers. They are some of the best in the business. This review is based on the office staff and the way the front office is run. First off the clocks in the school run 2 minutes fast, so if you are close to getting your child to school according to your clock (mine is set on my phone which syncs to the world atomic clock) then set your clock back at least two minutes to accommodate THEIR clocks. The most disturbing thing is that when someone points out something is not right or wrong, the office staff is very DISMISSIVE towards the parents and actually ignores the parents when trying to talk with them. There was a time when it was 5 degrees outside and it was 8:10 a.m. There is supposed to be a staff member/teacher outside to help traffic along and help get students into the school. This particular time there wasn't a teacher outside and the normal side door was LOCKED! Sorry it was cold outside but that is your job. Not to go inside and get a hot chocolate and warm up. Wake up and serve the parents that bring these children to your school. Stop acting like elitists where you make parents feel that they have to bow down to you. YOU WORK FOR US
